Milan is not only known for the fabulous glamour, but also for standout beauty looks when it comes to runways. The fashion houses that presented their Spring 2019 collections made sure that they introduced some memorable makeup and hair moments this year. One of the best things about the upcoming spring is that all makeup and hair trends are easy to recreate. You won’t need a makeup pro or an appointment at the hair salon to copy these looks. It will be all about the eyes, starting with fierce eyeshadow colors, graphic eyeliner, to accenting the inner corner with statement shimmery shades.
I am such a sucker for lamé. I have sound myself spending hours at a time on Etsy browsing through page after page of vintage pieces to find the perfect ones. Some of the best pieces are vintage, and if you’re in luck, they are still in good shape. Luckily, it has been a more popular sight in the modern fashion world and Missoni has put out some pretty lust-worthy pieces. I took my selected Missoni knit lamé skirt and went the 70’s route (duh), pairing it with a metallic, dramatic, bell sleeved bodysuit, metallic fuchsia boots, and some oversized round sunnies. You can create this look for yourself with the same pieces, and of course some variations. Shop below!
Summer is months away, but leave it to Kendall Jenner and Missoni to set the ground on fire. The supermodel is a real sight for sore eyes in the brand’s Spring/Summer 2018 campaign. Shot in the middle of New Mexico’s White Sands National Park, the pictures show an array of vibrant looks straight from Missoni’s latest collection. Jenner succeeds her best friend Gigi Hadid who starred in the brand’s Fall 2017 ads. The fashion house took it to Instagram, to announce their latest collaboration.
“The pictorial patchworks created by @rachelbhayes turn into visual extensions of the looks of #MissoniSS18 in the ad campaign created by @missbrunello, shot by @harleyweir and starring @kendalljenner.”
This time Angela Missoni decided to team up with the American artist Rachel Hayes. Hayes is a renowned fabric structure specialist, known for her massive installations. Rachel’s amazing patched artwork takes the central stage among Missoni’s impactful creations. These jaw-dropping pieces perfectly accent all the looks put together by the brand.
For this fun campaign, the 22-year-old reality star is joined by Filip Roseen. Both models seem like they are having the time of their lives while playing in the desert sand. The gigantic patchwork found its way into every single of the ad pictures. In some of them, Kendall poses on top of the pieces, plays with them, or hides from the desert sun underneath them.
In the most colorful campaign of the season, Jenner flaunts Missoni’s statement clothing, accessories, and eyewear. There is nothing ordinary about these looks. Whether you like color or not, you will find the ad material innovative and refreshing. The site is mesmerizingly scenic while the outfits range from dramatic to relaxed.
Angela Missoni took her epic luxury knitwear to a whole new level for Spring/Summer 2018. The vibrant spirit, the multicolored range of strong shades and impactful patterns make all the outfits stand out. The designer is one of the first ones who introduced the rainbow trend that is slowly taking over the closet of every fashionista. Missoni’s colorful striped ensembles are the next thing you would want to include in your outfits.
Shot by the fashion photographer Harley Weir, Kendall rocks a sheer striped maxi dress, pink leggings, luxury vibrant sweaters and statement accessories. As the most eye-catching detail in the ads, you’ll find the larger-than-life floppy hats. Every single look is complemented by accessories from the same collection. There isn’t a single doubt that this picturesque campaign will help Missoni sell all of their luxury knitwear goods within days.

Missoni was in a street mood for Pre-Fall 2018. But not in that edgy type of mood you often see on the streets brought by the young fashion crowd. It’s a timeless and free-flowing spirit kind of mood. Many brands are embracing the streetwear lately, but they feel a bit exclusive to the youngsters. Angela Missoni, on the other hand, dresses all generations of women. The effortless style of the New York women served as an inspiration for Missoni Pre-Fall 2018 collection. The brand’s latest offerings carry the vibe of a lady who likes to layer and mix and match new pieces with vintage pieces from her wardrobe.
Missoni will be 65 years old in 2018, but Angela Missoni seems to have all the brand’s collections in mind. No need to remind herself of what has been there before or look at too many references. She knows her family label very well.
“I have very clear memories from when I was 5 years old of, say, buttons of a specific shape, or trimmings made just so, or of shoes of a certain leather, of makeup and wigs from a precise collection. Our archive is just my life! Angela explains.
Since 2018 is an anniversary year for Missoni, the designer wanted to embrace elements that the brand is best known of as well as add a new story to refresh its image. There were the brand’s signature multicolored zig-zag knitwear and psychedelic patterns that date from the time her parents designed for the label. Angela Missoni also presented a new attitude through the logo jogging pants and other logo infused pieces. Missoni is far from athleisure, but the jogging pants gave the ensembles a sporty vibe.
The Missoni Pre-Fall 2018 collection takes cues from the ’70s which you can see in the relaxed flared trousers and multicolored maxi knitted wool dresses. Missoni has always been about vibrant colors. That element is still present in Pre-Fall 2018 in every piece from the collection. If you are a fan of solid pieces look somewhere else, because Missoni has nothing but show-stopping colorful ensembles to offer.
As a knitwear brand, Missoni knows how to keep you warm. Coats took cues from luxury bathrobes and kept up with the energetic color level of the collection. There are also cozy knitted cardigans which can be a great alternative to coats when it’s not crazy cold outside. You can layer them underneath a coat or a jacket when the weather has no mercy. One thing is for sure: at whatever weather Missoni will keep your body and soul warm.

Gigi Hadid continues to be one of the most popular models in the world. She constantly appears in many photo shoots for popular and luxury brands and announces new collaborations on almost a daily basis. Her newest achievement is the campaign that she did with the Italian fashion house Missoni, for their Fall 2017 collection.
The photographer behind the vibrant photo shoot is Harley Weir. The cool outfits that Gigi appears in were styled by Vanessa Reid. From what we could see from the released pictures, Missoni’s style is the perfect match with Hadid’s personal chic style. This is probably one of the biggest reasons why the 22-year-old supermodel is such a good fit for the campaign. The footwear seen on the ad shots is also by the Italian brand. Angela Missoni and her team opted for a very natural look for Gigi. The model has almost no makeup on her face, but she shines with a very soft glow and lets the clothing do most of the work.
The designs show a very unique and colorful side of Missoni. In the pictures, Hadid shows off her fun and feminine side. All of the designs are very bold and contemporary and do have that recognizable Missoni vibe. They carry very distinctive geometric and striped patterns that are mostly in strong and eye-catching colors. Although this striking mix might be a little too much for some people, all of the trendsetters are going to fall in love with the outfits.
In Gigi’s background, you will notice images of the Monte Rosa, which is a huge mountain massif that is a part of the Pennine Alps. The photo shoot took place in a very small hill village called Brunello that can be seen from the Monte Rosa. Brunello is very close to Varese and is the same village where Angela Missoni owns a house. That house was the chosen spot where the magic happened.
Aside from wearing all-Missoni outfits, Gigi also promotes their new eyewear collection. Knowing her love for sunglasses, this was probably the part of the shoot that she enjoyed the most. The cat-eyed frames are definitely going to be one of the biggest trends for the upcoming season. The jewelry featured in the advertisement photos is by Joseph DeMeo. We are going to have to wait until September, when the whole ad campaign will be released.

M Missoni is a part of the luxury Italian brand Missoni and offers youthful designs perfect for young and sophisticated women. At M Missoni you can find cool and chic pieces that you can mix and match with everything. The designs are very close to the ones available at Missoni and are predominantly made of colorful and light fabrics. The designs of the fashion house are always playful and feminine. They love to use bright colors and fun prints.
“I have conceived the M Missoni line as a collection of wearable pieces, easy to mix and match, pieces that women can wear around the clock, that can last in their wardrobe. Made with practical, comfortable materials, they are designed to be used and reinvented season after season”- says Angela, the Creative Director of M Missoni.
The Creative Director of the brand, Angela Missoni is a feminist and she doesn’t agree with the current political situation in the United States. The Fall 2017 Collection of the fashion house was all about femininity. Angela incorporated the pink pussy hats during the show at Milan as a revolt against Trump’s politics and to show her support as a feminist.
For the Resort 2018 Collection, M Missoni again decided to convey several strong statements and messages. The designs are faithful to the signature style of the brand. They are very feminine, versatile and practical. The pieces are simple and perfect for everyday wear. The collection has a strong 70s vibe.
The collection is named “Fight Like a Girl”. As for the fabrics, you can see a lot of patterns, denim, and chiffon. The most eye-catching color is the very fun almost-neon yellow hue. The most interesting patterns are the ones that look like kids drawings. The feminist spirit is incorporated thanks to the printed slogans “Girls to the Front”, “Stay Wild Child”, “Don’t Touch My Rights”.
All of the dresses in the collection have a simple design, but what makes them so good are the fun multicolored fabrics. M Missoni showed only mini and knee-length dresses in a very laid-back style, just like all of the other pieces.
The footwear is very chic and modern. The models wear silver gladiator sandals matched with large silver bags. Others are rocking golden heeled eye-catching boots. A genuinely youthful and fun collection for bold and sophisticated women.

Teresa Maccapani Missoni is launching a plus-sized collaboration collection with Eloquii for summer, and it’s all about providing more women with more choices. Particularly those in the community of women who aren’t given the same fashion options because they aren’t the same size.
“I wanted to give this community an elevated and beautiful product that was designed especially for them,” she told Vogue.
Teresa Missoni is part of the Missoni brand dynasty, with her mother, Angela, as the standing creative director. She hasn’t designed much in the industry, but has always been involved in her family brand, if only as a source of inspiration.
But when Eloquii, which focuses on larger sizing, brought the opportunity to work on a new collection, she jumped on the chance to bring her colorful and carefree wardrobe into it. She told Vogue she wore a lot of maxi-length styles and wanted to bring that comfortable and free-flowing style to the collection, which consists of 24 pieces.
A white crocheted top is super airy, with two seashells as the only true cover, right over the breasts (Little Mermaid style!). There are sketches of mermaids and tropical fish mixed into the prints as well. These whimsical aspects brought in a fun spirit, and the print options were just what we’d expect to bring it all together as a classic summer collection.
Besides the fish and mermaids, Missoni also sketched coral and brought in blue paisley for a tropical beach experience. She said a crucial point in the collection’s creation was focusing on the quality of textiles as they related to summer instead of just the prints and shapes of the garments.
“I knew I wanted to use natural fibers alongside embellished details and beautiful patterns,” she said.
Choosing high-quality textiles brings Missoni’s collection to a new level apart from other plus-sized lineups. It’s luxury fashion with a pricepoint that stays true to Eloquii’s contemporary business style.
More designers are extending to include more sizes than in the past, but it’s still not common for them to move beyond designing basics. It creates an imbalance where some basics are not practical in larger sizes due to textiles or other design principles; women often have to choose between a cute design or something practical.
Missoni is doing away with that stereotype with her new collection. Granted, some of the clothes – like the seashell crocheted top and other bold-colored options – are a bit on the daring side, but all it takes is a bit of confidence to truly pull off. And that’s just how she wants it.
“I wanted my collection to inspire women to feel confident, powerful and – above all – to give them lots of options.”

The Missoni fall/winter 2017-2018 ready-to-wear collection showed with a purpose and a statement at Milan Fashion Week. This wasn’t the first statement made against the current political climate during Milan Fashion Week; similar to New York Fashion Week, there was a good deal of dissent coloring, with the beautiful clothes and statements being made showing where the designers’ support sat.
Here, in the bright and colorful knits of the Missoni fall 2017 collection, the point was made for women’s rights with pink knit kitty ear hats. Not only were they placed on each chair for the show attendees, but also the end of the show featured every model wearing one of the very visibly pink pussy hats. The hats were an interesting statement, especially during the finale and when all of those in the audience decided to don their hats as well. It was a very cool sight.
Angela Missoni gave a statement, just to clarify her position by voicing and sharing her thoughts with the crowd. She stood in front of her audience and with several generations of her family in attendance and said: “In a time of uncertainty, there is a bond between us that can keep us strong and safe: the bond that unites those that respect the human rights of all. Let’s show the world that the fashion community is united and fearless.”
Her points were clear and easy to understand. Her stance on solidarity and support for female solidarity specifically was done with the color and a few designs, as well as her words. The stars that are already in the know and who have marched and shown support can now add Angela Missoni amongst their ranks, which helps draw attention to the cause that effects them too.
It is great that so many people are taking a stand whether the visuals on the runway are clean, clear and concise or done as the final point in the show. It is nice to see those with a bit more power and privilege than others stand up.
While watching the Missoni fall 2017 runway show, it is not immediately or glaringly obvious the stance that Angela Missoni was making. The collection is bright, very bright and complex in design and execution. There were only two points within the collection that made any obvious ties to her opinions – a delicately placed set of red hearts and the symbol female, namely an upside down triangle.
Without the background information that Angela Missoni was supporting the Women’s March, it was just an interesting take on a strongly designed knit. The hat did feature the zigzag signature pattern of the Missoni brand and now that we know why, it is easy to understand and even side with her and the ideals of the Women’s March (if you were not already doing so).

Missoni is an undisputed icon of knitwear so it was no surprise to see the brightly colored options done in knits on the Missoni spring/summer 2017 ready-to-wear runway show. The Italian fashion giant has done a lot within their brand becoming well known for their designs and overall aesthetic.
As is the case with a lot of clothes, everything in the Missoni spring/summer 2017 collection is not all-inclusive for every body type. As an example the bikinis would not work out well for the more amply blessed, but they were certainly still beautiful workings of glittering design or earth-toned patterns. High cut bikini bottoms are definitely making a comeback as they were also shown on the Missoni runway for summer 2017.
The patterns included in the collection were strong and inspiring, both of which are expected from a brand as strong as Missoni, with a background as detailed as their knitwear products. Long cardigans and short dresses have been seen throughout the collection with a variety of striped options.
A stunning jumpsuit floated beautifully, accentuating the pattern of the material and adding another beautiful selection to the collection. There are column dresses, tank dresses in a lot of different lengths and floor-length dresses as well. The necklines varied as well from V-necks to off to criss-cross halters.
The Missoni spring 2017 runway show at Milan Fashion Week was streamed live on the main website for fans. People have expressed a love for the silhouettes as usual; the simplicity the Missoni was striving for was showing through very well for a brand that has never been low-key.
A clear favorite was the short knit striped dress with light and dark greys with light blues, greens and a bold orange red stripe towards the bottom of the very short dress. The detail that really set the appearance on another level was the maxi vest that went with it, elevating the look and compensating for the very short length.
One of the biggest things that were easily noticeable was the movement for the pieces – the hems floated freely accentuated by the models’ walk. The colors were richly colored and perpetually stunning in every piece of clothing on the Missoni runway from the top to the bottom.
This collection is beautiful, breathtakingly so in its hard earned simple silhouettes but bright spring and summer appearances. Angela Missoni was very clear on her vision – she wanted to see a more minimalistic version of her brand on the runway, and it is clear that as usual she has succeeded in doing so in a very fashionable way.

Missoni, also known as the family business that keeps us charmed with its famous zig-zag motifs season after season, unveiled its fall/winter 2016-17 ready-to-wear collection at Milan Fashion Week, proving once again it is not impossible to still rock the catwalks with the same ‘old’ patterns and the brand’s iconic aesthetic (and at only a few kilometers away from where the brand’s creative directors first started creating their pieces).
Angela Missoni, at the helm of the Italian fashion house since her mother retired in 1997, grew up influenced by her parents’ views on fashion, and has always been very proud to inherit their fashion legacy. She does, however, excel at combining Missoni’s signature patterns with more modern ones, playing with the silhouettes and urban vibes whenever she has the chance to. And the urban style is particularly strong in the Missoni FW 2016-17 collection (although not immediately visible at first glance), and gets combined with some cool, yet not that predominant Seventies and Nineties influences.
Featuring the art of layering at its finest, the lineup got filled with big scarves, beanies, socks over the shoes and structured jackets, making us wonder for a few seconds if there’s anything warmer on this planet or not. Colorful and overly jocose, the collection also featured many black and white and grays proposals, which of course got updated with Missoni’s unique aesthetic. Aside from the aforementioned zig-zag prints, Angela chose to give squared, striped and abstract patterns a chance too, maximizing the proportions to achieve an unforgettable color-blocking effect of surprise.
When not featuring colored prints, Angela Missoni managed however to achieve the same pleasing-to-watch effect by combining fluid light blue shades with pastel purple motifs, or adding a shimmery touch to keep the Seventies jitterbugged ‘disco-dance’ references alive. Floor-length frocks with plunging v-necklines are the collection’s key pieces, coming in various prints and hues.
Then mixing the Seventies with the Nineties (without of course forgetting a touch of the Eighties as well), Angela chose to design some quirky mannish suits to balance the collections, the jackets being particularly intriguing. Slip dresses made of light-textured fabrics worn over long-sleeved shirts shriek ‘Nineties’, loud and proud, and got enhanced with super skinny scarves and belts.
Double and single-breasted coats surely are next fall’s must-have staples, along with the printed miniskirts, super skinny trousers and cropped sweaters (the latter of which are unfortunately not that numerous), which undeniably enhance the figure and emphasize the legs.
As the show drew to a close, Angela chose to channel her most sophisticated and glamorous pieces, bringing some delicate haute couture accents to the lineup. Lastly, one may be interested to notice Angela Missoni’s liking for sneakers, which completed most of the looks with a discreet athleisure touch.
