Feast your eyes on the opulent looks that A-listers flaunted at the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda fashion show in NYC.
Dolce & Gabbana hosted a weekend of extravaganza for their Spring 2018 Alta Moda Fashion Show that took place at the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center in NYC. The event turned into a three-day high fashion affair. For their Alta Moda shows, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana usually chose classic Italian destinations. The most recent couture shows took place in Milan, Sicily, and Naples. However, for Spring 2018, the Italian duo landed on US soil to present their opulent Alta Moda offerings.
The event consisted of a few different presentations. On Friday, Dolce & Gabbana presented the Alta Gioielleria high jewelry line. Next, on Saturday the men’s couture Alta Sartoria show at the Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center followed up. Lastly, the most anticipated show happened on Sunday where the women’s collection was presented at The Metropolitan Opera House.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana invited the most impressive model cast to present the lavish pieces. First of all, the Italian duo made a strong statement that couture fashion knows no age, size or religion. The 69-years-old Canadian model Maye Musk looked absolutely stunning in Dolce & Gabbana couture. Naomi Campbell stole the attention in a maximalist corset gown with a graphic voluminous skirt. Ashley Graham amazed in a romantic floral gown paired with exotic headpiece. Other supermodels who walked the runway included Joan Smalls, Romee Strijd, Sara Sampaio, the hijab-wearing model Halima Aden, Taylor Hill, Karlie Kloss and more.

The entire collection was as lavish as it could get. The Italian duo is well-known for their “more is more” philosophy. From florals, sequins, graphics, and stripes to intricate silhouettes, and massive headpieces, the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2018 collection was a feast for the eyes. In fact, the graphics were a romantic ode to the city that never sleeps, New York.
“We love everything about the city, the food, the people you meet on the streets, the skyscrapers, the restaurants, the subway, the nightlife, the lights that never go out. I could go on forever,” Gabbana told Vogue
Almost every piece was topped with frills, ruffles, fringe, and crystals. As always, Domenico and Stefano paid attention to the tiniest details in the making of the couture lineup.

Couture fashion obsessives from all over the world came to New York City to attend the Dolce & Gabbana three-day couture extravaganza. Among the A-list show-goers were Catherine Zeta-Jones and her lookalike daughter Carys Douglas, Diane Kruger, Dakota Fanning, and Jamie Foxx. On the top of that, the designers invited their most loyal clientele that included guests from Russia, China, the Middle East, and the UK.
Dolce and Gabbana roots go back to 1980 when Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana met, with their first collection debuting in October of 1985 at Milan fashion week. At that time they could not afford to hire models, or accessorize the garments in the show so, they had their friends be the models and wear personal items to compliment the clothing. The stage curtain for the show was a bed sheet. They have certainly came a long way since then, but through the years they have kept true to their famous classic look. This is a relatively simple look to achieve, and below you will find all the products I used to do so.
1.) Primer: My first step when applying makeup is ALWAYS my Tom Ford Illuminating Primer. It’s definitely my favorite primer and possibly one of my favorite products. It gives such a beautiful glow and makes my skin feel moisturized without making it greasy. A little goes a long way with this, so one pump is enough to cover my whole face. If you splurge on a product, make it this one!
Get This Primer For $75.00 Here.
2.)Under Eye Correction: When I was researching under eye concealers I came across this. With amazing reviews, I could’t get my hands on it fast enough. I have horrible under eye circles, but not with this corrector. Becca to the rescue!

3.) Foundation: For day to day makeup I prefer a more natural coverage foundation, but when I want complete coverage, this is my holy grail of foundations. Becca Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme.
Get This Foundation For $44.00 Here.
4.) Blend: I love my beauty blender, but this brush from MAC was my first love and I still use it often. One of it’s many uses is blending around the hairline, jawline, nose, and eyes.
Get This Brush For $42.00 Here.
5.) Conceal: I have used this NYX concealer for a few years now and it’s my go-to for just about everything. I have used it for blemishes, contouring, under eye, and eyelid coverage. It’s creamy enough to spread smoothly, and the coverage is great.
Get This Concealer For $4.99 Here.
6.) Blend Concealer: This angled brush from Real Techniques is great for getting in those tight spots all around the eye.
Get This Brush For $6.29 Here.
7.) Powder: My new favorite powder is the “Stay matte but not flat” foundation powder from NYX. I am able to set my foundation without it looking cake, but still able have a glow by highlighting certain areas and setting it with a illuminating setting spray.
Get This Powder For $9.99 Here.
8.) Powder Brush: I love this brush because it get’s the job done, but with a lighter coverage, which I prefer.
Get This Brush For $42.00 Here.
9.) Setting the under eye: I Love this brush from Real Techniques to set my under eye with powder, and I also use it as a highlighting brush.
Get This Brush For $7.99 Here.
10.) Contour: Charlotte Tilbury makes my favorite contour powder, and it’s found in her “Filmstar Bronze and Glow” contour palette. It’s coverage is unbeatable, and I love that the highlighter is not flaky like a lot of others.
Get This Contour Palette For $68 Here.
11.) Contour Brush: My exact brush is no longer available, but here is a great one from NYX that will get the job done.
Get This Brush For $13.99 Here.
12.) Blush: My exact combo palette from Becca is no longer available but the colors are still sold separately. The Blush is “flower child”. It’s the perfect pinky shade without going to Barbie.
Get This Blush For $32.00 Here.
13.) Highlighter: The highlighter from the Becca Palette is a favorite amongst beauty junkies. It’s “Champagne Pop” and really does give a beautiful champagne glow.
Get This Highlighter For $38.00 Here.
14.) Blush Brush: My exact blush brush is no longer available but this is a great alternative. I love a really soft blush brush so that I have more control over the amount of blush that I apply.
Get This Blush Brush For $19.00 Here.
15.) Eyeshadow: I used 2 palettes from Charlotte Tilbury on my eyes, one is not available anymore due to it being a limited edition, but I found an almost exact match to the color used in that palette and that is “Toasted” by Urban Decay. The other palette is part of her regular collection and is the “Dolce Vita” palette.
Get This Eyeshadow For $20.00 Here.
Get This Palette For $54.93 Here.
16.) Eyeshadow Brushes: I love, love, love these brushes from Tom Ford. This first one is great for an all over coverage and the second is my favorite for giving the eye a smoky liner. The Mac Brush is a great one for all over color as well, but my favorite use is for blending.
Get This Brush For $57.00 Here.

17.) Eyeliner: I am so happy to have discovered the Tattoo Liner by Kat Von D. If you have ever attempted wing liner (and the chances are, you have) you know how challenging it can be. The felt tip on this liner is the perfect amount of sturdy to draw a flawless line. Then, once it’s on, you don’t have to worry about touchups all day or night!
Get This Eyeliner For $20.00 Here.
18.) Mascara: The “Legendary Lashes” from Charlotte Tilbury defines and lifts lashes like I’ve never seen. Best of all, it does not flake!
Get This Mascara For $35.21 Here.
19.)Brows: This dual ended brow sculpting pencil from Tom Ford has a brush one one end and an angled pencil on the other. It makes brow shaping super easy and quick. I used Taupe for myself, but it’s available in various shades. The “Boy Brow” brow mascara from Glossier is my new favorite brow mascara. It adds a hint of color while locking in your desired shape.
Get This Brow Sculptor For $45.00 Here
Get This Brow Gel For $16.00 Here.
20.) Lips: I have been using this “Sienna” lip liner from NYX for years now, and it’s my favorite liner for a darker red. I recently got the Chanel Rouge Allure Ink as a gift from Chanel, and It may be my new favorite red lip color. Besides the fact that it feels amazing on, and it stays in place, the color is amazing!

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana know how to put on a show! The designer duo brought everything from religious symbols to drones that carried bags on their Fall 2018 runway show. Feast your eyes on the most exciting moments from the Dolce & Gabbana spectacle in this video.

Dolce & Gabbana took over the most famous department store in Britain, Harrods. To celebrate the collaboration, the Italian duo launched an exclusive capsule collection. The extravagant “The Sun in a London Night” show was just a part of the many surprises brought by Domenico and Stefano.
Their Harrods takeover was teased recently, but no one expected such a spectacle. The two designers brought all the Italian luxury to London and transformed the store into a fairytale. Everything was breathing and screaming Dolce & Gabbana. The designers presented the capsule in the middle of the food department of Harrods. Domenico and Stefano invited their millennial influencers and royal British family members. For this fashion show, the duo gathered around 100 young trendsetters that styled their looks. Among the familiar faces were Pixie Lott, Amber Le Bon, Lottie Moss, Lady Amelia Spencer, Sascha Bailey, Lady Tatiana Mountbatten, Lady Kitty Spencer and more.
“When you enjoy it, it’s easy. We are so lucky because it’s not work to us. It’s a pleasure. I never liked a short show. If I invite you for dinner or lunch, I’m not going to just make you an appetizer. I love millennials. People talk about them like they’re the worst generation. No! This generation represents a new time. It’s not like, ‘Oh, we discovered millennials’. You need to talk to these people and understand them, and why they’re changing the world. They’re honest.”- Dolce said.
Dolce and Gabbana took over every single corner of the store. The amount they spent is still not revealed, but the speculations are that it cost them around £7 million. Harrods and the luxury Italian house worked for over a year on putting this project together. The collaboration will last until December 28.
The all-Italian takeover included a day full of activities. It all started at the spectacular store entrance that is decorated with a huge Christmas tree, store windows with D&G products, light installations and a brass band brought from Naples. Inside the store, you will find a high-end jewelry pop-up, kids department, womenswear and menswear, kitchen equipment and even Dolce & Gabbana spaghetti.
Stefano and Domenico also released a photographic book that celebrates the new generation. “Dolce & Gabbana Generation Millennials: The New Renaissance” includes pictures of all the millennials who have inspired and collaborated with the Italian duo. It is a dynamic book published by Rizzoli where you will find fun runway photos, shots from events, selfies and more.
The Milan Fashion Week surprised this year. With the celebrity audience that NYFW gets and the fresh design energy that LFW is known for, the MFW has always been kind of in between. But this year Milan took the lead. It was an amazing pure Italian experience at its best. Milan was the epicenter of the fashion happenings this season. From Dolce & Gabbana and Versace to Gucci and Giorgio Armani, the Italian fashion masters brought back the spotlight to the Milan Fashion Week.
Gucci threw an unordinary show in a venue full of ancient statues. The designs followed Alessandro Michele’s vintage design aesthetic. The heavily embellished, intricate ensembles left everyone in awe. The collection that was a throwback to many big fashion moments in the past will most certainly have a bright future.
Dolce & Gabbana RTW Spring 2018 collection almost felt like haute couture. The designer duo took everyday objects and transformed them into masterpieces. The astonishing headpieces that Stefano and Domenico designed perfectly complimented the luxury outfits.
Donatella Versace stole the show with a spectacular closure of her Spring 2018 presentation. The designer paid tribute to her designer brother Gianni Versace with his greatest muses. Carla Bruni, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Helena Christensen walked in dazzling golden dresses next to Donatella in honor of the legendary Gianni Versace. The entire Spring 2018 collection reflected his amazing work throughout the years.
Jeremy Scott redefined the terms of ready to wear with his innovative Spring 2018 collection for Moschino. Model-size walking bouquets appeared on the runway and impressed the audience.
We still have to see a lot of big names during Paris Fashion Week, but it’s safe to say that Milan Fashion Week got in the spotlight this year.

Each Fashion Week brings new shoe trends. We witnessed many fabulous shoe designs from the shows in New York and London. Moving forward, Milan Fashion Week has some of the biggest fashion shows. Thanks to these events we know what to expect for Spring 2018. Starting from Gucci, Prada, Alberta Ferretti, to Versace and Dolce & Gabbana, Italians know how to do shoes. Striking prints, electric colors and chic heels are a must-have for spring 2018.
Donatella’s Spring 2018 collection was full of show-stopping prints. The designer recreated some of the most iconic collections of her brother. Aside from placing the vibrant prints on clothes and bags, she also did that on shoes. Versace borrowed Gianni’s most popular prints from the 90s. You could see over-the-knee boots with vibrant pop art designs of Marilyn Monroe’s face and rich baroque prints on sandals. A huge standout of the night was the astonishing, overly-embellished thigh-high black boots.
Dolce & Gabbana are always the ones that surprise with unusual, eye-catching shoe trends. For Spring 2018 the Italian designer duo once again chose vibrant colors and floral prints. Most of their sandals and booties featured a block heel. Dolce and Gabbana did a glorious mix of colors, glitter, pearls, and stones in their shoe designs. With these two it’s always about luxury, so this time, things weren’t any different.
Salvatore Ferragamo is another designer that presented stunning shoe trends. One of the most beautiful designs of the week is the snakeskin boots by Ferragamo. Salvatore’s sandals, boots, and shoes had a fun golden sectioned heel that made the designs even more impactful.
If you are a real shoe lover, take a look at these electric trends for Spring 2018, straight from the runways at Milan Fashion Week.
Statement accessories are one of the best parts of every Fashion Week. Designers love presenting show-stopping bags, necklaces, earrings that are complimenting the items of their collections. Many famous fashion houses showed their spring collections during Milan Fashion Week. Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Giorgio Armani, Prada, and Bottega Veneta came back to the capital of fashion to show their latest collections and incredible accessories.
Dolce & Gabbana is the fashion house that always shows out-of-this-world accessories. Recently the Italian duo decided to turn to high-end fashion and introduced a line of luxury jewelry. This season Dolce & Gabbana went again with the excessive glamour. There were mesmerizing crowns bejeweled with multicolored crystals and pearls. The earrings and necklaces were all red carpet material.
For Spring 2018 Donatella Versace traveled back to the 90s. She paid tribute to her late brother and recreated his most iconic creations. There were many beautiful hair accessories, eye-catching earrings, and unique handbags.
Gucci and Alessandro Michele, on the other hand, went back to the 70s and 80s. Alessandro loves doing excessively accessorized looks, and this time, things weren’t any different. He had Gucci’s logo all over the bags and jewelry. Michele involved sparkling hats from the 70s and square old-fashioned eyewear. Most of his necklaces featured the two G’s together with pearls and crystals.
Miuccia Prada said yes to another huge trend for Spring 2018. The Italian designer had her models wear chic Matrix-inspired sunglasses. For a bolder effect, she added colors such as red and yellow to the eyewear. The entire collection was all about women’s empowerment. So the accessories carried that vibe. The sunglasses gave the models a superhero look, so they fit ideally with the designs.
Take a look at the biggest accessory trends seen during the SS 2018 Milan Fashion Week.
Dolce & Gabbana know how to put on a show. The Italian designer duo’s spring 2018 offerings are here to make a statement. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have the power to turn the most ordinary things into a high-fashion moment.
There isn’t a designer who could convince the women to wear evening gowns with cabbage print. But for Dolce & Gabbana that’s not even an issue. For the Spring 2018 collection, the designer duo took inspiration from everyday objects. So the collection features pieces with insanely ordinary but unexpected prints. Stefano and Domenico decided to bring radishes, figs, biscuits, and cabbages into the high fashion world. Models walked the runway at their show during MFW in multiple designs with vegetable print. All things aside, it felt refreshing. Just like spring vegetables straight off the farmers’ land.
Dolce & Gabbana aren’t crazy about simplicity. So the Spring 2018 collection was full of intricate, heavily embellished designs. Most designers got back to the 90s glamour. That was also the case with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana this season. The dazzling designs carried a strong 90s vibe.
The card print had a moment in the Spring 2018 collection. Dolce & Gabbana offered everything from separates to evening gowns and headpieces in this attention-grabbing print. As always the designer duo completed the looks with breath-taking headpieces. Domenico and Stefano’s Spring 2018 ready to wear collection has a strong couture vibe. After all, haute couture is in the design DNA of these two talented designers.
Many designers opt for floral print for their spring collections. So, did Dolce & Gabbana, but not in a way you’d expect. They mixed biscuits and roses and placed this print on an evening gown. Additionally, there is a dress with 3d floral embellishments. Even the designs with a classic floral print looked far from the ordinary.
Since the female power dressing is back on the fashion scene, the designers made sure to offer fierce female suits. Confident cuts and vibrant prints are the two elements that describe Dolce & Gabbana’s female power suits. Feel free to complete your power attire with a crown. After all, every woman deserves to swap her invisible crown for a luxury Dolce & Gabbana one.
At Dolce & Gabbana’s Milan show we all witnessed how Stefano and Dominico turned everyday objects into high-fashion moments. So, apparently, nothing is as ordinary as it seems. Or at least everything is ordinary until Dolce & Gabbana decided to put it on an evening gown.
