Gwyneth Paltrow Launches First Goop Fragrance
Gwyneth Paltrow’s interest in all that is natural is steadily growing day after day, as proven by her Goop’s products as well. One of the latest Goop addictions is an all-natural fragrance, launched by Gwyneth Paltrow a few hours ago.
Minimally entitled Edition 01 – Winter 2016, Goop’s first-ever fragrance is exclusively available at Goop.com, both as an eau de parfum (which retails at $165) and as a scented candle ($72). Although both Paltrow and Goop’s headquarters released very few statements regarding the news, we do know that Paltrow’s plan is launching a scent each season, with the next one actually already being scheduled for the upcoming spring 2017.
“I’ve always had a wardrobe of fragrances, and I like changing fragrance, so I wanted to do one each for season,” she told Vogue UK.
Described by Paltrow as “a perfume of cypress smoke, snow, sensual quiet”, Goop Edition 01- Winter 2016 is basically an ode to winter, and is entirely made of non-toxic essences and ingredients. The scent evokes “coziness, that warming quality in winter of being beside a crackling fire,” continued the actress, model and designer.
While Goop’s eau de parfum features natural sugar cane alcohol at its base, the scented candle is made from soya wax, a sustainable choice that is very dear to Gwyneth Paltrow not only for eco-friendly reasons. Aside from keeping up with her healthy regimen and lifestyle, Paltrow wanted to create something that her daughter could wear on a daily basis as well, if she wanted to.
“We want to create fragrance that isn’t harmful, especially to our daughters who are growing and developing and I think we really all deserve that,” she told People Magazine at an N.Y.C. launch for the scent. “That’s what we’re trying to do. […] This is an area where I’m still in education mode, but she’s very into makeup, YouTube tutorials, and conventional makeup. That is one of the reasons why I want to do this even more.”
Those who not only are in love with Goop’s all-natural ingredients, but love its aesthetics too, will the find Edition 01 – Winter 2016 packaging extremely appealing, as both the candle and the eau de parfum’s jar exude Gwyneth Paltrow’s appeal for minimalism.
“I am such a fragrance girl,” she concluded. “I love [fragrance] so much, and I think it’s so transportive and powerful and it can take you back in time, it can take you forward in time to dreams of your life, and I just think it’s amazing.”
