Continuing the range of myths about the food that has been “invented” especially for those, who are loyal followers of diet we come to turkey bacon, which is another wanna-be healthy ingredient that has quite a big popularity among many people keeping diets. If we look at the elements that are contained in the turkey meat we may notice that it’s leaner than pork, but the transformations meant to gift the turkey bacon with the taste of the pork bacon are quite numerous here as well. In fact, the consistency of salt and fats is sometimes even more in turkey than in pork because of such processing. In addition, it’s required to fry turkey bacon in oil, because otherwise it sticks to the pan. Thus this is the second disadvantage of using turkey instead of pork. So we come to the conclusion that turkey bacon can be a source for discovering new tastes for those, who for instance don’t eat pork because of religious restrictions, but looking at it from the point of view of diets, it is by no means more useful and healthier than pork in any aspect.

Myth No. 5: Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Are Ideal for Any Season
Of course, everyone wants to eat fresh and healthy fruits all year round, and if you have a house in the countryside, it’s quite easy to realize that wish. Still, if you want to have healthy food all year round even without having to go to the country, then there are a number of nuances that you need to take into account. Nowadays, you may find a huge assortment of the most diverse fruits in any supermarket, but you really shouldn’t rush to buy anything you want irrespective of the season. Buying products, which are not typical for that particular season means you risk having not fresh fruits, which have probably been kept for quite a long time and transported over quite long distances. This will of course have its influence on the quality and the value of the products. Probably the only exception here is roots, which store the useful elements throughout the whole process of preserving them. Frozen fruit and vegetables are probably the most suitable choice in this case, since only the best products are picked for storing them frozen and the modern technologies of freezing allow preserving the greatest part of the useful elements and vitamins. The most essential thing here is being sure to prevent the premature freezing and choosing the correct products to preserve their value properly.

Myth No. 6: Salads Are an Optimal Choice for a Snack in a Restaurant
It is a super popular idea that salads are an ideal solution for having a snack and preserving the necessary amount of calories, but what actually happens when you go and order a hyper popular salad like Caesar, for instance, is that you have just as much of calories as you would when eating a standard burger or even more. The existence of lettuce doesn’t make such salads healthy and low calorie alternatives for you and when picking a salad you should first of all focus on the ingredients making sure that whatever you choose is a fresh vegetable salad, spiced up with quality ingredients taken with correct proportions like a bit of vegetable oil, lemon juice and balsamic vinegar.
