Zac by Zac Posen Spring/Summer 2016 Collection – New York Fashion Week
We should always think futuristic. As far as the fall season has started and we have all the needed info with fashion background to live it through, it is high time we started learning about the rules we are going to need for the next year. With the opening of New York Fashion Week spring 2016, one of the most thrilling very first collections has been showcased by the young New York fashion designer Zac Posen, who gives us a little bit of everything stirred together in the latest ZAC by Zac Posen spring/summer 2016 ready-to-wear collection.
Starting with an ultra-trendy modern look, the model stepped into the catwalk in a silky shimmery black-and-white pantsuit teamed with a white puritan-collar shirt underneath and palm-pattern classic straight capris. For the feel of colorful spring time, the outfit was matched with bright pick loafers, which though unexpected, but feels extremely right and great. All the beauty is in details here: for instance, take the mesh inserts in the black pieces of the collection – they immediately add some character to the reserved must-have little black dress letting you wonder about the girl who wears it.
As we see, silk is on the designer’s favorite list for the season to come: he took time to offer us incredible silk designs in the form of asymmetric-striped manly suit, loose straight bold shorts and a youthful dress with ruffled skirt. The minimalism of the last season is still on trend, as we see some white off-the-shoulder cape-sleeve blouses and a manly monochrome office shirt-dress that looks stunning with the blue light coat on top.
When saying Zac has added a little bit of everything to the line, we seriously mean it. Just next to the Cali-inspired ethereal beachy palm-pattern lightweight midi and floor-length chiffon dresses there come designs as if taken from the Bible, like the rosy-pink silky one-shoulder dress that is wrapped around the model’s body giving it that holy, flawless and high feel. We see a lot of ‘40s feel as well with the loose floor-length gowns that show no excess inch of skin and yet give the sensitive feel of a woman’s nature with little tricky details like neck and shoulder cutouts, tiny bows and soft fringes attached to the monochrome fabrics. The collection is closed up by a chic midi short-sleeve black dress that is unique with web skirt-layer and the sparkly stone embellishments that give the wearer a mysterious smooth feel of a starry night.
The hair is kept pretty easy with soft beachy waves, natural set-open hair, messy top buns, low side tails and boyish pixies. You can notice an interesting idea of a color match between the loafers and lips: this looks so cute yet nowhere overthought. We do not see much dramatic eye makeup here, which suggests that the cleaner you keep the eye area, the younger you will look. Seems like a good idea especially when we need to embrace the fresh air of spring after the harsh and frosty winter! We love the easy air of the ZAC by Zac Posen spring 2016 collection and we will certainly stick to it in the upcoming season.
