Victoria by Victoria Beckham Spring/Summer 2016 Collection – LFW
If we were visiting the Yves Saint Laurent gardens in the city of Marrakech in Morocco for our spouse’s birthday, we would certainly find ourselves very impressed as well, with creative juices flowing and sudden realizations that the Moroccan flowers would look incredibly beautiful on the latest pieces within the Victoria diffusion line. “The collection really reflects the color, the tiles, the energy of Marrakech — and I really wanted it to be fun. And I really want to reach out to as many women as I can with this collection,” Beckham said during a walk-through. It is clear that the flowers really had their effect since we see the lovely plants sprouting on shirts and dresses and even denim. We also see ladybugs, a chicken and some abstract tile patterns. The spring collections are a favourite for us and we cannot imagine how the fashion would be without them. In the case of the Victoria by Victoria Beckham spring/summer 2016 collection, we love the more casual appeal of the VB designs.
Within the Victoria Victoria Beckham spring 2016 lineup we see a whole lot of the signature Majorelle Blue bloom prints with really lovely effects. “We visited the Jardin Majorelle, and I was really inspired by all the tiles and the color,” Victoria explains. These florals appear on everything from the off-white lace on the crepe shifts worn by the models to the macramé sweater. We love the use of technology in terms of the laser-cut aspects to some of the dresses, while the looser, more relaxed silhouettes are very much beginning to mark the major trends of the coming year. Voluminous backed cape dresses have become a favourite for the designer, as she has understood that wearing such pieces can actually be quite flattering as well.
If there is one thing we love about Victoria, it is the fact that she thinks about those with varying budgets, offering pieces that are lower on the scale in order to reach a much wider audience. In her own words, she wants everyone to just experience her brand, thus offering a wide array of T-shirts in order to reach that goal. This includes contenders for eveningwear, with fuzzy felted finish flowers on top and in lovely primary color palettes, leather also incorporated here and there. Dinky denim dresses look awesome while we see some halter pieces that remind us of lighter, brighter summer days.
The whole collection has a rather energetic feel with freshness to it that we were craving from a Victoria Beckham line. She seemed to be concentrating too much on the darker hues and too deeply on the professional attire of late. This particular diffusion line offers enough pieces to truly make a wardrobe for the coming year, particularly the tees and denim pants. This is what the customers love, this is what they want and this is certainly what is being delivered now. Beckham has her game plan ready and a trip to Morocco doesn’t sound like a bad idea to come up with some incredible inspirational ideas.
