Victoria Beckham Spring/Summer 2014 RTW – New York Fashion Week
An enchanting minimalism was again reigning on the catwalk at New York Fashion Week, as the Victoria Beckham spring/summer 2014 collection was being cast. For the new spring 2014 season, Victoria Beckham decided to surprise everyone by making a dramatic shift from her all-time-favorite signature fitted dresses and midi-skirt-and-classy-blouse combos to flirty, youthful and modern garments that bore an urban sensibility and soft masculine vibes. Whatever it was, the line still featured that admirable VB smart style and the perfectly polished tailoring that the British fashion designer has made us hooked to.
But how can it be? Has the VB style completely changed forever? As Mrs. Beckham stated backstage: “I still love a fitted dress, but there is another side of me that wants to feel at ease and relaxed as well as sharp and feminine.” So don’t miss your chance to discover a new side of the Victoria Beckham fashion, one that is feminine and girlish, flirty with boyish details and smart at a time.
One detail that screamed her impeccable style in the Victoria Beckham spring/summer 2014 collection was the presence of mostly monochrome looks featuring timeless blacks, whites, sometimes grays, fuchsias and burgundy tones. She didn’t go so far as to use busy prints and patterns in her collection, however, the striking ruffled mermaid hems on the skirts and dresses, the textured paneling and the transparency inserts provided enough visual interest and flirtiness.
Lots of frisky mini skirts and dresses, pleated crop tops and sleeveless tunics with pleated hems, men’s tailored shorts, cropped polo turtlenecks, sheer bomber jackets and cropped panel shirts, V neck blouses and double flare skirts flood the Victoria Beckham spring/summer 2014 collection, giving pretty much room for styling, mix and matching this spring. The line also features lots of Eastern motifs, namely the kimono jackets and kimono shirts. Still if you want more, prepare to be taken away by those slouchy trousers and comfortable loose nightwear-resembling long blouses that will definitely take your styling to a whole new level!
The beautiful Victoria Beckham spring/summer 2014 rtw show was summarized in a perfect mood, when Mrs. Beckham appeared in a white shirt with rolled up sleeves and paired with loose black capri trousers and a pair of classic black pumps. She apparently was experimenting not only with her collection, but also with her personal style, as she said backstage: “I like to challenge myself every season. I want to wear everything, I’m so proud of it.”
