SS 2016 Paris Couture Fashion Week Street Style Inspiration
As always, while the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week runway shows themselves were the main stars of the week, the street fashions are not too far behind as it shows which looks have been adopted by the ardent fans of fashion, as well as the general populace, and which have slipped through the cracks. Photographers lined the streets, trying to catch the best outfits and we must say that they managed to see with perfect precision, with a good eye towards the most fashionable of the lot.
It is still the middle of winter and it is Paris we are talking about, so we cannot expect it to be warm at this time, but there were some brave ladies who showed off bare legs and pulled on pumps without socks. Yikes! We were definitely expecting the barrage of long sleeves though, for we already wonder how many of these women, who visited the runway shows are now sitting home sick due to the cold from those first days.
We are glad to have seen some really warm-looking outfits, even if some legs were bared. There was the thick cashmere dress in mustard yellow appearing as if worn over a comfortable black long-sleeved shirt, pretty black tulle bringing the hem down to the knees. The midi hems are common enough, but we are in love with the long, slight flared and sleek looking trousers that give the ladies quite the professional look.
And then of course there are the coats, the blue and white fur pieces our very favorites, along with the cashmeres and the wool. For ourselves we might just pick up a lovely brown cape though, as it appears so very lovely when paired with a black pencil skirt over black tights, with a black and white sweater tucked in, a Chanel bag in hand.
When it comes to shoes, we found everything from lace up half boots to pretty pumps. Golden shoes actually looked quite appealing, while peep toes and platforms make the rest of the outfit disappear into the background at times. Fun polka dot shoes also find their way onto the streets, along with T-bar and ankle strap pieces, which give tweed and wool ensembles a very good name.
Colors range from dark and black to bright white furs and golden shoes. We actually rather love the black patterned tights that appear here and there, something that is big for 2016 it appears, showing off the legs underneath. We see browns and greys and lovely floral prints in muted hues, while some accent colors such as orange and reds or blues certainly peek through the more black and white ensembles from time to time.
Possibly the most unexpected of the PFW SS 2016 street style looks to be seen was the hipster glasses with the hoodie, sweatpants and denim jacket, the cherry on top being the “plague mask” that everyone seems so fond of wearing these days in their effort to ward off the flu and other diseases.
