Reem Acra Spring/Summer 2016 Collection – New York Fashion Week
Keeping track of New York Fashion Week, revealing the outlining trends, distinguishing the ones that best correspond to your own style and knowing ahead of time how you will look in springtime is really cool and entertaining. But it is even cooler to all of a sudden come across a collection that is playing out of the system, ignoring all the current trends and endeavoring to set its own unique ones. That is why we were so charmed to discover a brand new and breezy trend when the expert of global glamour, Reem Acra appeared on the runway. The founder and creative director of the brand is just proud to see a part of her own creative mind and rich imagination resting with utmost harmony on this or that celebrity or a royal family member. That very pride and self-respect stimulate her to explore all the undiscovered corners of her spirit with more fervency and energy. One of those investigations gave birth to the ultra-chic and ultra-intricate Reem Acra spring/summer 2016 collection.
The collection is genuinely about Reem Acra’s personality. The note “I just want to take you to my world” is enough to understand that the designer is going to be extremely sincere with us throughout the upcoming springtime. The lineup comes to be the merge of her past and present life, that is to say the interlacing of Arabian chic and American glamour. The mixture is so breezy and innovative that many of the celebrities and fashion hunters are sure to usurp the treasures from the fashion house soon enough as to adorn Red Carpet or other prominent ceremonies.
In pursuit of completely deviating from the main trends, the designer has however preserved the trendy floral prints, taking them to another level via Arabic intricate embroidery, embellishment, textiles and fabrications. The first part of the show renders a series of mini dresses with the craziest designs and color combinations possible. The opening silk dress with multicolor stripes, crimson red flower appliqués, super-plunging neckline and belts adorned with Middle Eastern beading gives us a cue that we will definitely get flooded with a number of embroidered and embellished designs, the signature detail of which comes to be fringes brought straight from Arabian bazaar. The distinctive feature of the ultra-minis is that the top abruptly differs from the bottom both in colors, prints and sometimes even in fabrics. A bright orange scoop-necked and poet-sleeved chiffon top is paired with dodger blue satin twisted skirt that are combined together with a violet glistering belt to become the mini dress brought directly from the Reem Acra’s world.
What we see in the second part of the Reem Acra spring 2016 show can definitely be called the wardrobe of an ancient Arab princess, who faces a difficulty every morning in deciding whether to choose the silver ball gown with multicolor reflecting and richly beaded belt or a sapphire blue tulle dress with floral embellishment or maybe the luxurious bathrobe style red dress that will definitely astound the royal residence.
