Pippa Middleton is A Stunning Bride in a Wedding Dress by Giles Deacon
On Saturday the beautiful Pippa Middleton tied the knot with her then-fiancé James Matthews. Pippa, mostly known as the younger sister of Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, stunned everyone with a wedding creation by Giles Deacon. Nobody expected less, knowing Pippa’s flawless style. The long-awaited ceremony took place at St Mark’s Church in Englefield, Berkshire. The party continued at the Middletons’ house in Bucklebury.
For months there were speculations on who would design Pippa’s wedding dress. The young bride managed to keep this a secret until the day of the ceremony. There were rumors that Giles was going to be the one when he was seen visiting Pippa’s house around Christmas, with a large bag. At that moment he refused to confirm any rumors and left everything to our imagination.
The bride appeared with a stunning cream-colored lace dress with cap sleeves and high neck. She looked very elegant and gentle in the custom-made gown. Unlike the dress that Pippa chose for the Royal wedding that emphasized her curves, this time she went for an A-line shape. The estimated value of the dress is around £40,000.
“I was thrilled to work with Pippa on her wedding dress,” the designer said. “The dress is constructed with a cap sleeve, high neckline and features a corseted bodice with draping to the front and a heart-shaped detail at the back. The bespoke silk cotton lace was hand appliquéd to create an illusion of the dress having ‘no seams’. The lace bodice is embroidered with pearl detailing over an organza and tulle underskirt, which has layer upon layer to enable a floor-sweeping movement. It’s a privilege to show the craftsmanship that my team produces in London and a real testament to Pippa’s support of British fashion.”
The delicate tulle veil accessorized with pearls was made by Stephen Jones. Robinson Pelham is the mastermind behind the beautiful Maidenhair tiara. He has been Middleton’s family choice for many occasions so far. And last but not least, Pippa went for Manolo Blahnik’s pumps. She chose a customized version of the Seneca bridal heels. The satin pumps were the same color as the dress and featured pearl embroidery. Rumors are that the bride wore the same Robinson Pelham pearl earrings that she wore to her sister’s wedding.
Deacon is mostly famous for his unique and eccentric style. That is why nobody thought that he would be Pippa’s choice for her special day. His collections include predominantly unconventional designs, such as the one Solange Knowles wore at the 2015 MET Gala. It turned out that Giles is perfectly capable of creating romantic and fairytale-like dresses. This might be the dress that will launch Deacon as the new star designer. Deacon stated that his main inspiration was the 1963 movie “The Leopard”, especially the dancing scenes.
“I know they were all hoop crinolines in the film, but there’s something gorgeous about having that great movement, with the skirt spinning round, keeping its shape,” he said during an interview with Business of Fashion.
The famous sister of the bride, princess Kate left everyone breathless with her impeccable style. She appeared in a peach colored dress by Alexander McQueen. The dress reminded very much of the 80s. This fashion house has been Kate’s choice on many occasions, including her wedding dress from 2011. The simple dress aroused many discussions on the social media, mostly because people expected something more fascinating and vibrant. Nevertheless, the princess looked radiant as always. She complimented the look with a rose-colored fascinator hat and elegant nude heels. This time she let her sister be the center of the attention. Kate coordinated her dress color with the dresses of the bridesmaids and her mother’s dress.
The Duchess has been an acknowledged style icon ever since she married prince William. Her style is very simple but elegant and graceful at the same time. She has been spotted wearing affordable brands such as Zara on many occasions, and every piece that she puts on becomes an instant hit.
