MSGM Spring/Summer 2017 Collection Is Rife With Bright Athletic Details
With cool athleisure at the forefront of the new MSGM lineup, it is no wonder we are so looking forward to seeing the brand’s spring 2017 collection hit the stores. Obviously not everything appeals to us and some of the color combinations are just not what we would have liked to invest in, but the separates on their own could really be enjoyed for the most part.
There are 35 different looks to the MSGM spring/summer 2017 collection that was showcased on the Milan Fashion Week, with a whole bunch of unexpected mashups displayed for the viewing pleasure of fans and fashion lovers alike. It was a combo platter that Massimo Giorgetti was serving to the public and they were devouring the goods with relative fondness for the approach, enjoying every last morsel placed before them, from the mesh pieces to the ruffled additions that just made the getups look like a child’s creation.
Biker shorts were a total hit and we expect many to be sold over the coming season, but pairing them with ruffled skirts and sashes was a bold move. Then again, tiered ruffled skirts paired with ruffled shirts actually had much going for them, giving a funky modern schoolgirl effect overall.
Those flyaway track pants are also expected to be major sellers for their enticing fits and lovely shades, the added argyle sweaters only making the looks pop up even more with the nerd effect.
If anyone has a sense for putting together top trends, it has to be Giorgetti as he brought in the top fashion styles of the moment, athleisure and girlish ruffles. Though it doesn’t always appeal to everyone, there is at least one combination of separates that gets the blood boiling with passion for each fashion lover searching for a good MSGM outfit these days.
Perhaps one of the biggest things to stand out in the MSGM spring 2017 ready-to-wear collection, other than the major trends incorporated, was the brightness of the colors and the overall energy of the collection as the models strutted down that runway. With lots of fruit prints popping up everywhere as well, it was as springy as they come, playing up cherries and bananas to the fullest.
Of course, that does not automatically mean it looked amazing, but that the quirkier designs would certainly be found appealing by individuals, who prefer that sense of style. The inspiration for the collection according to Giorgetti is the girl “who loves to go fast” and that really is embodied in the whole to the line. Neon neoprene trainers were definitely a fun way to top things off.
The designer took the whole thing quite beyond expectations and could have used some toning down but hey, at least we got something entertaining out of it all and fell in love with a few pieces here and there that define what he was trying to get at. Plus, some of that footwear looks beyond comfortable so you can expect an MSGM shopping spree soon enough!
