Monique Lhuillier Fall/Winter 2014-2015 Collection – New York Fashion Week
Perhaps the first thing that comes to your mind saying Monique Lhuillier is femininity and sophistication! Well, your point of view is totally right and well-grounded, as it can be felt from the Monique Lhuillier fall/winter 2014-2015 collection cast on the first day of New York Fashion Week fall 2014. For the coming fall season, Lhuillier tried to experiment with new vibes and styles, still staying in her box, as a result of which we have a bewitching collection that combines romanticism and ladylike allure with a bold and sometimes a bit dark edge. The Monique Lhuillier fall/winter 2014-2015 collection can certainly be the ultimate source of inspiration for working women and modern fashionisers, who strive to look their best both when walking in the city or hitting the glam red carpet events!
The show at Monique Lhuillier started with an array of daywear options, where structure, patterns, texture and femininity were the key points. The runway got flooded with tea-length body-enhancing dresses with waist-accentuating belts, a striking vinyl trench-coat featuring a pink tweed pattern, another shiny trench-coat with a waist-belt, a pencil skirt and matching blouse combo in guipure, a minimalistic sleeveless long black vest topping gaucho pants and a see-through guipure blouse.
As we look further, the show gets moodier and the models come out wearing skeletal prints, bold black leather bottoms, striking embroidery and mesh used for creating the blouses and the dresses. The only thing that stayed the same is the gloomy color palette, featuring lots of black, dark gray and navy.
Still, we were all holding our breaths for a deep exhalation at the sight of the beautiful and perfectly crafted eveningwear alternatives, including a myriad of gowns, LBDs and cocktail dresses, all featuring intricate beadwork, lots of embellishments, romantic lace, delicate transparencies, embroidery and fringe. The romantic slightly textured updos of the models and the minimal makeup mainly in warm tan tones perfectly complemented all the looks showcased.
So we can surely say that Monique Lhuillier again conquered the runway at New York with her talent to picture the woman in the most refined style possible! There is no doubt, we’ll see a lot of pieces from the Monique Lhuillier fall/winter 2014-2015 collection in the coming red carpet events and not only!
