Michael Kors Fall/Winter 2015-2016 Collection – New York Fashion Week
We always expect some fashion magic from Michael Kors rtw shows and the spanking new Michael Kors fall/winter 2015-2016 collection definitely fulfilled our expectations. Bringing timeless and chic style staples, the new Kors designs come imbued with a sense of masculine fashion, which looks so feminine and effortlessly sophisticated. Inspired from Day Vs. Night, the American sportswear king brings contrasting styles that attract at the very first sight. Embedded with a big dose of modern simplicity, the entire collection shows a wonderful mix of masculine vibes with femininity, tailored designs with romantic looks, opulent modest combos with glamorous minimalist ones. Best of all, each and every piece showcased brings warmth and comfort to the scene combining that with the most bedazzling fall 2015 fashion trends.
We fell in love with the Michael Kors fall/winter 2015-2016 collection at the sight of the very first look, a simplistic tea-length straight knit dress in a gray coloring topped with a luxurious oversized fur coat mixing rich gray hues with touches of light brown fur. Chic menswear Oxford shoes and a structured travel bag finished off the look giving the ideal dose of laidback allure to the overall outfit. Can we please have it all? There is something about each and every look showcased that enchants us immediately, turning the entire collection into a one stop shopping destination for updating our new season wardrobes. It’s actually an entire wardrobe of a modern woman, who is glamorous at night, flirty in feminine ruffles, who knows how to nail down military fashion and look sexy in a relaxed pajama dressing or in a masculine style pants suit. She is elegant and strict at the office in a classic neat skirt suit and is laidback and cool during the daytime donning head-to-toe knitwear. She knows the right techniques of layering and styling, using thin belts and luxe fluffy fur scarves as finishing details for her outfits in line with retro style shoes and satchel inspired handbags. Her hair is left loose and relaxed, while the face shines with the perfectly flushed cheeks. She’s a modern girl, a real trendsetter, who inspires everyone around to live a cool life and look cool at any occasion.
The mood was very fall-ready not only in terms of the warm and cozy materials used for the designs, but also the overall muted color palette. We saw lots of gray and charcoal, timeless blacks, whites and navy blues, but also warm shades of olive, chocolate brown, barley and fawn that provided a retro touch to the entire Michael Kors fall/winter 2015-2016 collection. The jewel tones of burgundy, peacock, peridot and topaz enhanced the glamour in these relaxed and oversized outfits. While the majority of the looks were kept monochrome with the focus placed on the interesting textural plays and details, there were also flirty florals and subtle checks. With the great attention to details, the new Kors designs look surprisingly simplistic and relaxed, even when it’s about those multicolor lush fur or the elegant cape style coats and trench coats.
The entire Michael Kors fall/winter 2015-2016 collection is about style opposition and it has the ideal piece for everyone, both those trying to look chic during the daytime and women on the hunt for the most sizzling evening gown. The closing looks of the show were devoted to eveningwear, which was as sober and minimalist as the entire collection. We saw ground-skimming and figure-enhancing straight dresses in black and shimmery charcoal that will appeal to strong and self-confident women who know how to emphasize their sophisticated style in a simplistic staple instead of going for richly embroidered or sequined extravagant options. While the evening looks were simply to die for, we still can’t take our eyes off those chic outerwear options and the masculine inspired outfits.
