Man Repeller’s New Collab With Atea Oceanie

Minimalism meets edginess with a new, cool collaboration between the Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine and Atea Oceanie. The Man Repeller x Atea Oceanie 2016 collection combines the British label’s clean cuts, Nineties-inspired ensembles and minimalist color palette with Leandra Medine’s maximalist style, whose quirky attitude and whimsical approach to fashion is always much appreciated by her followers.

It is a unique seven-piece collection, where opposite styles attract and blend with each other creating something exceptional, suitable for every taste. Each piece is available for purchase at the British e-commerce website Boutique 1 and at Atea Oceanie’s official website, with price tags ranging from $270 to $650.

The collection comes just in time for the pre-fall 2016 season, and includes wide-leg tailored pants (one of Medine’s signature staples), minimalistic midi skirts, loungewear pajama-striped dresses and suits, as well as boyfriend shirts. It’s thus a range of seven essential wardrobe staples that Medine and Atea Oceanie’s founder Laura Myers are big fans of, which led the duo to start discussing about a possible collaboration still in the summer of 2015.

“Funnily enough, when we first started thinking about the collaboration, I think I had this swatch of the lamé fabric floating around the office and was thinking about how could we do that, but it just didn’t feel like something that was naturally integrated to the core of the collection. And [Medine] was like, ‘I’m thinking about lamé,’ and I was like, ‘Perfect, this is my opportunity,'” revealed Myers.

As for Medine, she appears to be absolutely thrilled about the collaboration, also because she has been admiring Myers’ approach to fashion since the very beginning of her career.

“I have been wearing Atea for many moons, and have really admired Laura’s approach to minimal dressing that doesn’t sacrifice quality-it almost feels like she’s not concerned with what goes inside the sandwich so much as she is making sure it’s made from the best bread ever. That is not the way I think or shop, so I respect her approach,” said Medine.

It’s the first collaboration ever for the young label Atea Oceanie, and things are already changing for the better for the future of the label. Although Myers’ next step is observing how things evolve and deciding whether other future collaborations might come her way or not, Atea Oceanie is already making some changes within the label’s e-commerce section.

“We’ve done a slight redesign of the site, and now that we’ve got some really great retail partners on board, I want to think about connecting with customers directly,” said Myers.

The Man Repeller x Atea Oceanie collaboration has been available starting from June 2016. You’d better hurry up, since the pieces come in limited quantities!
