The Full Kenzo x H&M Fall 2016 Lookbook Is Here!
After months of speculations and sneak peeks, the full Kenzo x H&M fall 2016 capsule collection’s lookbook is finally here, and even brings many activists, models and artists onstage. The Kenzo x H&M 2016 lookbook, the pieces of which got sported by various actors, actresses and models throughout the past few weeks, features a star-studded cast captured by photographer Oliver Hadlee Pearch.
Artist and DJ Juliana Huxtable, fashion editor Harriet Verney, MUA Isamaya Ffrench, artist Ingrid, musician Anna of the North, model and rapper Le1f, activist Amy Sall, photographer Youngjun Koo, musician and performance artist Oko Ebombo, Julia Banas, Pierre Painchaud, and models Mae Lapres, Hao Liu, Selena Forrest, Tom Gaskin all gathered in the H&M studios to pose for the astounding 41-piece Kenzo x H&M fall 2016 collection lookbook.
So, what should we expect, from this capsule collection? With Kenzo involved in the collaboration, the first thing that we have to keep in mind is that there are animal prints used aplenty. Jackets, layered dresses, tees and trousers, everything got inevitably revamped with shocking animal patterns, which are very dear to Kenzo’s creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon too.
As for the most whimsical staple of all, we have to crown the layered skinny trousers embellished with three different types of animal prints, as they will surely stand out of the crowd anywhere someone wears them to.
The Kenzo x H&M fall 2016 collection features, however, more than ‘just’ animal prints. The collection is, in fact, particularly strong on structured dresses perfect to wear during the day or night, as well as ready-to-wear essentials, such as sweatshirts and cozy raincoats. Finding a monochrome staple is basically impossible, but Leon and Lim did think about those who favor plainer garments over ultra eclectic ones (as seen, for example, in the case of ankle boots).
Although being rather genderless, with especially the bomber jackets, coats, trousers and pullovers perfect for anyone, this capsule collection proves to have a special place in ‘its heart’ for floor-length, haute couture-inspired floral dresses, which will surely remind many of a sort of street-style-filtered version of Lim and Leon’s Kenzo fall/winter 2016-17 RTW collection.
The overall approach behind this collection was creating a perfect mixture of styles, namely a high-street attitude that could radiate both standard Kenzo and standard H&M vibes. To reinforce such a statement, Leon and Kim thought about an equally eclectic accessory line that could particularly appeal to those, who are looking for a single standout staple to wear on a daily basis.
The wide range of Kenzo x H&M accessories includes functional shopping bags and totes, fancy elbow-length leather gloves, galoshes, flamboyant furry flip-flops, cozy beanies and warm socks that you can layer with either the flat or chunky boots.
Although the price tags are still a mystery, we now know that the Kenzo x H&M capsule collection is going to be available in 250 selected brick and mortar H&M stores worldwide, as well as online at hm.com, starting from November 3rd. Get ready to act super fast!
