Kenneth Cole Fall/Winter 2013-2014 RTW – New York Fashion Week
It has been seven years since we last enjoyed a Kenneth Cole show during New York Fashion Week and now the American designer is back to the big runway, showcasing the newest Kenneth Cole fall/winter 2013-2014 collection. And the comeback of the great designer was marked with an active social-media involvement and a gorgeous backdrop projection of New York skyline. The designer was giving $1 to everyone, who was tweeting and retweeting #KCRUNWAY. After the show, the models even shared some pics of the audience on their Instagram profiles. “We wanted to use the myriad of platforms available to communicate both a social message and a fashion message in unison,” Mr. Cole explained backstage.
Apart from the beautiful background of the runway and the social-media activity, the Kenneth Cole fall/winter 2013-2014 show was also noteworthy due to the impressive clothing pieces and accessories. Most of the outfits were in black and dark shades of army green, gray and burgundy, featuring lots of leather, metallic details and shimmery yam. It was a totally futuristic, modern and kind of grunge collection with lots of strong signature looks. Despite this fact, all the pieces were maximum wearable and transformable to the street.
The Kenneth Cole fall/winter 2013-2014 collection is flooded with warm knitted pieces and outerwear, holographic jackets and accessories using lenticular prints of moving birds, double-breasted wool coats, jersey dresses, pleated leather pants, velvet pieces and printed dresses. Colorblocking, layering and perfectly accessorizing are the designer’s philosophy for the new season. The looks were finished off with chunky metallic jewelry pieces, peep-toe boots, leather gloves, belts, bags, sunglasses and hats. We can safely say that the homecoming of the Kenneth Cole brand was definitely impressive!
