Jill Stuart Spring/Summer 2013 RTW – New York Fashion Week

Femininity, sophistication and elegance are going to again rule in the upcoming sunny season, as it becomes clear from the Jill Stuart spring/summer 2013 collection demonstrated at New York Fashion Week. Inspired by Kim Basinger’s character Lynn Bracken, from the neo-noir film “L.A. Confidential,” the designer’s collection promised an ethereal, easy and mild spring, filled with boudoir-ready pieces, lots of embroidery and lace. Stuart looked back to the Thirties through Fifties and brought retro pieces and details, such as seven-eighths-length sleeves, high necks, full skirts and flutter sleeves.

The color palette of the Jill Stuart spring/summer 2013 collection takes the versatile turn, bringing black and white shades, nude and coral hues. The attention to details on the garments is more than huge, as we get stunned by the lace and appliqués. And if there was no appliqué used, you could feel the same sophistication through flowy silk and metallic sheen. The show ended with heavily sequined pieces, ideal for red carpet events.
