Gucci’s Resort 2016 Collection Hits Stores and Already Has an Ad Campaign
The breathtaking Gucci resort 2016 collection presented in June and coveted by so many women around the world surprisingly hit the stores a couple of months earlier of the typical scheduled delivery date for Resort collections. The beautiful vintage looking designs defined by the designer himself “as subtle, romantic and deviated from overt sexuality” are proudly displayed on the windows of Dover Street Market stores. The reason why the brand pushed its delivery schedules remains unknown and we not only couldn’t care less but are also excited, as it means we can purchase the gorgeous designs a day sooner.
For the occasion the brand’s creative designer has launched the Gucci resort 2016 ad campaign. Having successfully put his own signature to the celebrated Italian brand in a short period of time Alessandro Michele’s Gucci resort campaign truly captures his epic style. The collection being about the allure of time and pieces inherited from mother, grandmother and mixed and revived for the modern woman, deserved a beautiful celebration. So Alessandro Michele threw a party in a beautiful Villa outside of Florence. The dreamy short film directed and shot by Glen Luchford features star models as Rhiannon McConnell, Tami Williams llie Barrett, Julita Formella and others dancing in an ornate room with amazing vintage décor to boho tunes. Glen Luchford created a multidimensional dreamy film and could imagine it to be a scene from an Antonioni flick. Watching the film we had the impression Glen shot the whole thing, then slow-motioned it just to make us see what it feels like to be living a careless life in an enchanted villa far away from the buzzing city life. The bohemian aesthetic was everywhere – in the prints, in the decors, in the characters that embodied the careless Seventies’ hippies, who danced and shouted slogans like “make Love not war” in this case, however, we could imagine the designer’s reincarnated hippies shout “make fashion not war”.
The advert captured to the best the essence of Alessandro Michele’s cruise 2016 collection giving us time to observe the nerdy eye glasses, fabulous appliques, fluffy frills, grandma’s beret hats, floral silk headpieces and the sweet floral printed quilted bags. After watching the short movie we once again fall in love with the grandma inspired outfits and all we want is to be in that room somewhere in Italy far away from everyday reality, be dressed in that beautiful medallion dress with vintage looking embroidery and bell formed sleeves, or the all pink outfit of sheer pink blouse and flowing chiffon skirt. Actually we would love to sport every piece of the Gucci resort 2016 collection, because every piece was alluring and suave, the textures of the garments being rich and sophisticated with sensual see-through lace, delicate silk, billowing chiffon featuring a vivid palette with different patterns and artisanal embroidery. The designer successfully reincarnated the out of date items and gave them new life and a new story in the enchanting 2016 resort campaign.
