Our Favorites from Free People La Dolce Vita 2016 Lookbook
Starring model Abby Brothers, the latest Free People 2016 lookbook catapults us into La Dolce Vita, letting Federico Fellini capture our sweetest dreams. Although the Free People La Dolce Vita 2016 lookbook just got unveiled on FreePeople.com, we already have a few must-haves to share with you. Showcasing the best boho-chic style, as well as vintage Vespas, the lookbook focuses on denim, prints and basic lines, radiating comfort and joie de vivre from each one of its photos.
Perfect for the spring, our favorites all exude some clear retro and classic Hollywood-inspired silhouettes, such as the lovely crop tops, flared dresses and peek-a-boo details. Free People La Dolce Vita takes us to a place, where sun-kissed shoulders and naturally messy, if not purposely undone, hairdos accentuate any woman’s natural beauty, wrapping us in cozy yet effortlessly timeless outfits that will revive the classic femme look in a more modern way. Jane Birkin, Brigitte Bardot, and, of course, Anita Ekberg were the main sources of inspiration for this collection, as their at times naïve femininity perfectly intertwines the boho-chic look Free People often impersonates.
Back to our favorites, starting off with one of this upcoming resort season’s best trends, the denim fitted jacket is almost mandatory on our list, as it really is this spring pass partout for almost every occasion. Meant to be worn with either a total-denim look or with a delicate floaty dress, it features some interesting distressed bandana print linings too. As for the other must-haves when it comes to denim pieces, Free People manages to make denim skirts come back in a big way again, thanks to a short well-tailored jean skirt that is high at the waist and flared at the bottom. If you are not into denim skirts but would really like to try it on for once in your lifetime, we recommend trying Fee People’s option, as you will probably change your mind just by looking at it.
Free People also had fun reinventing the denim bell-bottom jeans trend, which basically ruled throughout the Seventies, creating some dramatic bell-bottom jeans with deep side slits and high-waist patchwork denim pants that have the power of elongating any type of figure.
As for the dresses, on the other hand, our list of favorites could be an endless love story. From maxi dresses that could be regarded as the perfect hymn to hippy fashion (such as the Magnolia and the Pink City dresses) to fresh midi dresses with retro prints (such as the Tatulla dress), Free People really has it all when it comes to dresses and skirts, and we couldn’t be happier. Moreover, regarding this, one of the collection’s indisputable protagonists is the Making You Jealous Dress, as its sheer and gauzy fabric, along with its three-quarter length bell sleeves and wrap style skirt, really enchants.
Jumpers have their time to shine too, but it’s with the accessory and shoe line that Free People shows its best. With the iconic clog back in town, the La Dolce Vita 2016 lookbook features some bandanas, ankle bracelets and straw boaters too, making us literally look forward to summer holidays at this point.
