Fendi Pre-Fall 2017 Collection Focuses On Innovative, Yet Classic Silhouettes

It has been an extremely intense year for Fendi, whose runway shows and ad campaigns never missed a chance to amaze and inspire us throughout the past 12 months. For its pre-fall 2017 season, Fendi offered us an astounding 37-piece collection that not only is full of surprises, but also really embodies the anticipation one usually gets right before the fall season actually begins.

The one thing one instantly notices regarding the Fendi pre-fall 2017 collection lies, in fact, in its coherent color palette, where warm welcoming colors such as orange, dark green, and black flawlessly dominate the scene. Here and there, designer Karl Lagerfeld also revamped the line with late-summer colors, such as blush pink and off-white, which overall created an appealing contrast with the line-up’s darker and sharp-cut staples.

The silhouettes are extremely urban-inspired as well as clean, with the only exception being a few frilled hems and heavily pleated cuts. Of course, the Fendi pre-fall 2017 collection added a few ethereal butterfly sleeves to the shirts as well, as roomier sleeves already appear to be one of next year’s ultimate trends. The impression we get is that for the trans-seasonal period, Lagerfeld decided to experiment with both rigor and fun, letting dichotomist staples such as clean-cut cape coats and slightly Nineties-inspired, asymmetrical gowns go hand in hand together, as they were meant to be.

Such a playful and versatile dichotomy is seen in the Fendi pre-fall 2017 collection’s choice of fabrics, too. Aside from Lagerfeld’s nostalgic feelings for his latest Haute Fourrure show unveiled earlier this summer, which made him create a few furry coats for this pre-fall collection as well, the overall line-up alternates lightweight materials such as jacquard, with warmer fabrics like wool and cashmere, which is just the perfect match when it comes to the transitional seasons.

As for the collection’s protagonists, Lagerfeld undeniably focused on midi gowns and tailored coats, meaning that if you are looking for must-have essentials to add to your wardrobe, heading to Fendi might be the best option!

Other It-items are can be seen in Fendi’s pre-fall 2017 accessory line, the handbags among which stand out from the crowd for sure. Almost each one of the collection’s looks got complemented with one handbag, which in return got revamped with one of Lagerfeld’s sellout furry charms.

The Fendi pre-fall 2017 collection also featured a new bag dubbed Back to School, which we bet will particularly appeal to those who can’t help but collect iconic designer handbags!
