Chadwick Bell Fall/Winter 2013-2014 RTW – New York Fashion Week
Beautiful contrasts… exactly this way can be defined the gorgeous Chadwick Bell fall/winter 2013-2014 collection unveiled during New York Fashion Week. It’s all about timeless elegance and modern touches, sixties folk vibes and Californian mood, sophistication and relaxed shapes, simplicity and chic, perfectly polished and carelessly unstructured looks. With the myriad possibilities of style choices, the fall collection of Chadwick Bell targets fashionisers with different tastes, preferences and age groups. Yet, despite the great differences and stunning contrasts, all these pieces are united under one category: extremely wearable, impressive and voguish.
No wonder, the inspiration source behind the Chadwick Bell fall/winter 2013-2014 collection can’t be one. “I started with Simon and Garfunkel [and then] Carole King. I used to go surfing with my dad at 5 AM and he would always have Carole King on in his big 150s,” the designer tried to explain.
The focus of the collection was on the outerwear, as Bell showed dozens of killer pieces, from cashmere coats to oversized evening-ready ones in deep green duchess satin. “I wanted to create wide shapes [to make you wonder], ‘What’s under that?’”
Besides the stunning outerwear options, the Chadwick Bell fall/winter 2013-2014 collection also brought voguish sportswear, elegant ensembles and dresses. The evening-wear dresses were definitely cutting-edge beautiful, featuring just simplistic lines and an asymmetrical full skirt.
The looks showcased came styled with chunky graphical necklaces, high-heeled booties and sandals worn with knit socks. Bell definitely managed to create something wow-worthy, which still manages to remain “something worldly.”
