Balmain Resort 2016 Collection
The Balmain resort 2016 collection is simply too lovely not to check out in person. We cannot wait for its release soon enough! Olivier Rousteing showed off part of the women’s resort collection he has been working on after presenting the men’s pieces, both designed to reflect the theme of the desert explorer. Of course, when it comes to a woman dressed in line with this theme, you can be sure that she will always have some form of sensual edge to her style. The sandy tones themselves can’t wash off the awesome from the adventurous female all dirty from the blowing sand and dust.
In Rousteing’s own words, “neutral does not necessarily have to mean neutral.” That is such a confusing point to make; it requires a good bit of clarification to understand. Beige coloring is most definitely used, but it doesn’t necessarily mean we are looking at simple garments or unattractive outfits. On the contrary, this is one designer who has ensured the duller of the colors is added to a rather sexy silhouette, effectively bringing the collection out in a new light. We see cord macramé on short dresses so beautifully drawn up, while ladies in skin tight pieces, belted up suede and more fluid viscose knit gowns took to the stage, cinched sleeves and all.
It appears the designers still refuse to make the ladies wear bras, which can be bothersome when we see nipples poking through even heavily knit sweaters. Netting style skirts appear on the runway, while heavy embroidery that my grandmother would have made as a table coaster is used to pull together an interesting floor length dress. Sexy is what sexy does and what it does in this collection is show of muscular legs though thigh high slits in shiny gorgeous material that makes the outfit look fit for a seafaring pirate with a major sense of style. The lace up trend is all over the collection, from shirts to shoes to short hemmed dresses, while leather decides to make an appearance with zippers along the center of the chest giving it a sexier appeal. Jackets, skirts, shoes and dresses are all seen with the leather material creating its basic structure. At the end of the day, we only have a few pieces to judge from, but we are sure we are going to be falling head over heels in love with the entire collection once it has been officially unveiled soon enough.
We can expect to see the whole of the Balmain resort 2016 collection come Paris Couture Fashion Week, particularly the more colorful garments that really pop out and the exuberant references to the stormy seas. At this point, though, we see a bit of dazzle and bit of 1970s, a touch of the ‘80s with the oversized shoulders and sculptural cut and a whole lot of adventure around the world. The woman who wears the Balmain resort 2016 fashion items will feel like the desert queen, the warrior who has the ability to kick ass while following the latest fashion trends.
