Alexis Mabille Spring/Summer 2015 Collection – Paris Fashion Week
Creative imagination, courage, sophistication and love for the dramatic. All these characteristics can be applied to a young French designer named Alexis Mabille and his stunning Alexis Mabille spring/summer 2015 collection! It’s not by chance that Mabille at the moment is considered to be one of the most brilliant, talented and promising masters presenting the younger generation of fashion designers.
The Alexis Mabille spring/summer 2015 collection showcased at Paris Fashion Week during the second day proved once again that blue is one of the most favorite colors of designers for the next season. The collection was designed in neutral tones and the color palette featured white, beige and different shades of blue. In the first few dresses opening the show, Mabille had used satin to create dark blue long sleeve hooded mini dresses (hoods seem to be another trend to watch out next season, what do you think?), classic shorts adorned with black satin stripes around the hems and jackets with notched necklines, all white dresses with elasticated waists, long hooded coats and mini dresses with belts emphasizing the slim waistlines of the models, dark blue hip hugger pants with long sleeve sweaters, mini skirts with simple white shirts and topped with matching jackets (the perfect office attire, isn’t it? Alexis Mabille is THAT wearable!).
Mabille has never been one of those designers to be afraid to show skin. His new collection that featured fishnet skirts with lacy hems worn over sparkly underwear and topped with loose long sleeve blouses, fishnet long sleeve dresses with side pockets and hoods was a perfect manifestation of that.
As the Alexis Mabille spring/summer 2015 collection show progressed the pieces presented became more and more feminine and elegant. We saw all black jumpsuits with shorts, asymmetrical dresses with dark blue long sleeve blouses patched with a see through fabric up on the front, a classical combination of a simple long sleeve white shirt and high waisted satin pants and so on.
The last part of the show was remembered with a parade of outfits in white, light gray and blue. First we had high waisted white pants with matching jackets, a light gray mini dress with cap sleeves adorned with a sheet of satin on one side, beige hip hugger pants with white shirts with lacy hems, one-shoulder asymmetrical dresses with elasticated belts and so on. The all blue end to the show was provided with V-neck flowy maxi dresses and blouses with bell sleeves.
Overall, the Alexis Mabille spring/summer 2015 collection proved to be rather modern, feminine, luxurious and original. The collection was also very diverse, which is also a huge advantage. We saw dresses that we can wear at work, when going to a party or an important social event. In a word, everyone will be able to find a piece of Alexis Mabille for herself. No wonder the French designer is sometimes called “the king of haute couture”!
