Alexa Chung Designs for AG Jeans
She’s a television presenter, a model and a contributing editor to the British Vogue, partying at Tom Ford bashes with all the other stars of the world. She is that one lady who can have us envious of her effortlessly stylish looks, inspiring in us a wish to emulate her outfits. She’s got that cool-girl style that’s hard to come by and does much for spurring on her career in the fashion industry. Her latest gig is with AG Jeans, where Alexa Chung herself has collaborated on a line of a 20-piece denim collection. It’s the year of modern-meets-vintage and January 15 will have the pieces appear on StyleBop, while they will be stocked at David Jones exclusively from January 20. It’s a pretty penny one get to pay for these, but between the overall and the graphic sweatshirts, we’re sure we’ll have enough denim on denim to last the season.
AG Jeans is celebrating 15 years in the industry this year, with Yul Ku combining modern sensibility with classic sophistication, ensuring each piece transcends the seasons. The denim is everything that is chic, sophisticated and classic, with each piece created reflecting this mantra. This house is definitely unparalleled in the fashion industry. The ‘70s have inspired the Alexa Chung for AG Jeans 2015 line, where we have Mod dresses, high-waisted denim, metal buttons on A-line miniskirts, dungarees and simple tees that give one the casual country feel we have longed for. The teasing continues and we cannot wait for the pieces to hit the stores already. We’re craving out denim on denim trending pieces.
Capri denim pants, comfortable shoes and an oversized sweater certainly speak well about the company’s dire to cater to the public’s needs of relaxation and cosiness. The look is great for spring, it’s perfect for a brisk walk outdoors in and it’s lovely for a day running errands around town. Plus, it’s everything from chic mom to college student, all wrapped in a simple casual garb.
Where we see legs, we close off the chest, shoulders and arms from view, balancing out the amount of skin shown and definitely adding to the allure of this particular dress. The metal buttons on the sleeves do well for the look, while the string at the neck makes a bow that might remind us of more Puritan days. Then again, why shouldn’t a woman cover up if she wishes to? This most especially if we’re looking at amazing street fashion.
The next piece is gorgeous and reminds us of some garments that used to hang in our closets years ago. The button down shirt dress is perfect, particularly when in denim, with long sleeves and a short hemline showing off legs, a high collar and breast pockets to boot. She’s probably one of the only 30-something women who can pull off dungarees without looking like an overgrown child it seems. The look works great with the red lips that are so very trendy this season, as well as the medium length hair left in effortless waves.
