Joining the extensive list of fellow colleagues such as former model Gisele Bündchen, new addition Hailey Baldwin and catwalk habitués Kate Moss, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Ashley Graham, Carolyn Murphy, Lara Stone, and Hannah Davis, singer Ciara has just signed a model contract with IMG Models, officially becoming one of the fashion industry’s most influential personalities. It is, in fact, well known that, whenever someone boards the glamorous IMG’s ship, that person is definitely going to hit it big in the modeling industry.
Ciara, who is already rightly considered an inspiring It-girl by many of her fans and not only, is thus finally fulfilling one of her biggest dreams, and is not afraid to humbly show and share her happiness with us on her main social media accounts. Given the fact that she has always liked to share pearls of wisdom regarding her style, likes, and fashion dos/don’ts, we can expect her future IG account to be filled with tips, tricks as well as backstage photos from her future photoshoots.
“I’m super thrilled about partnering with IMG Models,” she enthusiastically told The Hollywood Reporter. “I have always had a strong love for fashion and I’m grateful to be surrounded by so many great friends that are the best at what they do in this industry. This partnership will give me an opportunity to grow and experiment as an artist. I truly look forward to all the amazing things we have planned ahead.”
Ciara, who has most recently stunned her fans at the 2016 Met Gala with a jaw-dropping Roaring Twenties-inspired look, is however no stranger to the industry, and has often posed for the likes of many famous fashion magazines, as well as brands’ campaigns such as Vogue Germany, Roberto Cavalli and Adidas Originals. Moreover, she has been a longtime muse for Givenchy, and has worked as Topshop’s first-ever U.S. brand ambassador. She even signed with a modeling agency, namely Wilhelmina Models, back in 2009, but things did not lead to the expected success. Now that she will be represented by WME’s sister agency IMG (she is under contract with WME for what concerns her music), her career as a model could hopefully take a new turn.
All the good news regarding Ciara, who has so far sold more than 23 million records and even shared a Grammy with Missy Elliott, does not end in here. The 30-year-old star, who has recently got engaged to quarterback Russell Wilson and will probably soon get married, last week released her sixth studio album ‘Jackie’, and is about to co-host the Billboard Music Awards with rapper Ludacris on May 22nd.
