Sophia Webster Spring/Summer 2017 Shoes & Bags – London Fashion Week
Sophia Webster’s spring/summer 2017 accessories collection is just as fanciful and imaginative as the fans of the Sophia Webster brand would expect. As a collection this has a very lighthearted appeal that will appeal, as the brand has been since 2012, to a wide range of people.
There are shoes in every single category for women, from slip-on sneakers to matching butterfly backed shoes for women and little girls. They are beautiful, varied and intriguing in the way they were shown. These shoes are on trend while being innovative, new and interesting. The collection was shown on models and individually in large and small bird and butterfly cages.
Slip-on heels and slip-on flats appear in Sophia Webster’s spring 2017 accessories collection in a wide variety of designs, none duplicated, though some are adjusted for children’s sizes. There are sandals, both flat and heeled, some of which are stunning and amazing in that they are actual knee-high sandals the likes of which are nowhere close to this intricate design.
There are espadrilles in this collection that have colorful details on the heel and over the foot and around the ankle. The heels in Sophia Webster’s collections are always in a variety of heights so that everyone can find something comfortable, yet beautiful to wear.
In the case of this collection, there are block heels, platforms, butterfly winged ankle wraps on flat sandals and more. The variety of little flat, butterfly-adorned shoes for little girls is adorable, sweet and endearing in the gemlike colors and floating little wings.
The knee-high sandals, however, are the most exceptional, giving so much to look at, so many interesting details and a nearly gravity defying design that does not appear to slouch or come loose. There are ankle-high versions of the caged style shoes as well, which are visually interesting and appear very comfortable in a stiletto and in flats.
A black brilliantly detailed pair of high heels has a laser cut, caged like pattern topped with ankle wraps that are reminiscent of a peacock feather. The ankle wraps contain red, blue, green and yellow sequins that provide the bright colors against the black shoes. Beneath the ankle wraps the same design continues across the top, brilliantly designed and utterly beautiful.
Bags were also included in this show, some of which feature fun sayings, others of which are fashionable and functional yet definitively subtle. Sophia Webster’s accessories have officially been around since 2012, and the brand has done amazing things in the short amount of time.
The Conde Nast Footwear Emerging Designer of the Year 2012, British Fashion Award for Emerging Accessories Designer 2013 and British Fashion Council Vogue Fashion Fun in 2016 were all awarded to the founder and head designer, Sophia Webster. With these incredible credentials, she has really continued to create a beautiful offering of shoes for her customers that are diverse and breathtaking.
