Suki Waterhouse Turns Fashion Designer Launching Own Accessories Line: Pop & Suki
English model and actress Suki Waterhouse has been teasing fans for just about six months, with the idea of an e-friendly accessories collection made in collaboration with none other than her own best friend Poppy Jamie. The joint collection, named Pop & Suki, was finally revealed Monday morning, and the designing duo is taking preorders for items in the line until the collection officially launches, which will be in November. The products that have been released are everything we hoped they would be; they’re fun and flirty, girly and modern, and best of all, affordable!
In Suki Waterhouse’s accessory collection, you’ll find just about everything dipped in pink. That is one girly color that has been dominating the millennial market, particularly in recent fashion months, and up through now it has proven to be a successful sell, so we have no doubt that between the color choice and the hype of this line finally coming up, the accessories are going to fly off the e-shelves.
On top of that, the two English TV personalities drew inspiration from the street-popular feminine power of today; this came in the form of friendship accessories for millennial BFFs in particular. In a release from the brand, the two designers touched on exactly why the move to create BFF accessories was a rather large one. “…there were no fashion brands that celebrated friendship or catered for women who want to enjoy fashion with their friends as opposed to purely for personal consumption.”
So, Waterhouse and Jamie are gingerly pushing the boundaries of this soft, young side of fashion, but they are also keeping up with the latest marketing strategies. With today’s obsession with having everything “right now,” many brands (on large and small scales) are opting for a see-now-buy-now presentation. For Pop & Suki, this means there is no middle man; customers who pre-order (or order, come November) will be receiving their items directly from the brand. Not only does this bolster intimacy with the label, but also it is a great deal more convenient for the clients.
Lastly, it is the element of customization that truly sets Pop & Suki’s accessories collection above the rest. Versatility with a single accessory is crucial to its longevity in your wardrobe, and this collection has a great deal of potential to do just that. The three products at hand now are a shopper tote for $255, a camera bag for $195, and a paperclip chain for $120-$700.
There are different customization options for each product; for the camera bag, you can do monogramming and/or add straps to change it into a backpack, cross-body, fanny pack, or wristlet; the shopping totes can have keychains, a luggage tag, or tassels added on to it; and the chain has a multitude of charms it can be embellished with (charm prices range from $30-$55).
