The Blonde Salad’s Chiara Ferragni Gets Her Own Barbie Doll
One fashion blogger is getting her own Barbie doll for the first time ever, and it is, of course, the Blonde Salad’s Chiara Ferragni! The Italian (now Los Angeles-based) fashion blogger, It-girl and fashion designer revealed the final product on her Instagram account a few hours ago, sharing her excitement and infinite happiness with us.
“My childhood dreams came true: they created my own Barbie (the one on the right) And @barbiestyle came to visit me in my Beverly Hills house #BarbieStyle #Barbie #TheBlondeSaladNeverStops #NeverEver,’ she captioned.
Chiara Ferragni’s look-alike Barbie doll is, of course, seen sporting a leather jacket, a pair of shredded jeans and a gray crop-top, combined with what appears to be a super-mini Chanel purse (how cute one tiny accessory can be!). Her blonde locks got perfectly matched in color and style with her Barbie doll’s hairstyle too, and her mini-me is already ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§hanging around’ with the real Barbie, with everything documented on Instagram too.
“My girl @chiaraferragni is such a doll! Excited to reunite with this true orginial at #nyfw. #barbie #barbiestyle,’ captioned Barbie herself.
Chiara Ferragni’s grand total of 6.5 million Instagram fans (Barbie ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§only’ has 1,5 million followers) expressed their excitement through comments as well, as they know having your own Barbie is a big deal, indeed.
The fact that Barbie chose the Italian It-girl as her first-ever fashion blogger mini-me, however, comes as no surprise. Ever since creating her blog and eponymous label (Ferragni is currently busy promoting her brand new FW 2016-17 accessory line), the Blonde Salad has been growing out an empire that took her to be mentioned by Forbes as one of the 30 most successful individuals under 30 in 2015.
Although Chiara Ferragni is the first fashion blogger to get her own Barbie mini-me, she is not the first-ever celebrity to be immortalized as a Barbie doll. Lots of celebrities have had their chance to get transformed into a Barbie over the years, from writers such as J.K. Rowling, to singers such as Beyoncé and Nicky Minaj. The Marilyn Monroe Barbie was released in 1997, the Farrah Fawcett Barbie in 2011, the Audrey Hepburn Barbie in 1998, the ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§70s Cher Barbie in 2007, and the list could go on forever!
Diversity is indeed something Mattel got the time to think about ever since the first Barbie doll was released in 1959, with its iconic dolls being not only transformed into some of the world’s leading and most independent women, but also already coming in three new shapes (tall, petite and curvy).
This is good news indeed not only for the Barbie doll collector enthusiasts, but also for all those children who love playing with Barbie and take the doll as a role model!
