Sneak Peek at Olivia Palermo’s Chelsea28 Collection for Nordstrom

Olivia Pelermo's Chelsea28 Collection for Nordstrom

It’s just before the start of New York Fashion Week and we finally get to see the launch of Olivia Palermo‘s Chelsea28 line with Nordstrom, looking better than we expected actually. Those prints, those colors, that undeniably fashionable flare to the classic cuts‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√묨‚àÇ we are in love! Plus, those of us with a shoe fetish, even a little, are already panting over those triple buckle T-bar red heels! Make sure to check Nordstrom.com to be the first to own these goodies in less than a week!

Olivia Pelermo's Chelsea28 Collection for Nordstrom

We are only a week away from the launch that is scheduled for February 8, the collaboration with Nordstrom’s in-house label Chelsea28 turning out to be a super deal. “It was important to start with life pieces, as I call them,’ Palermo told Vogue. “Taking a great navy wide-leg pant, for example, and being able to restyle it.’

The collection includes 32 pieces that cover a full wardrobe really, from boho dresses to oxford fits that are a bit more on the masculine side, and lovely stylish daily wear jeans. Denim is an important part of one’s wardrobe and Palermo cannot seem to stress that enough. “It’s important to understand what a girl wants. And Nordstrom has a similar take on the New York woman‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö√Üshe’s a woman on a mission who knows what she’s looking for.’

This is a collection we have been looking forward to and have made mention of it late last year, on October 29th. The It girls are also playing in the proverbial sandbox these days, growing their power on the fashion territory. In this case, it is New York that is being conquered and we are more than happy to see Olivia Palermo hitting it big. She has done many collaborations before (Olivia Palermo x BaubleBar, just to name one), but it is the first with Nordstrom. The idea is to make really good pieces for accessible prices.

Palermo has a tendency to mix high and low fashions together, which makes for an interesting ensemble that redefines some borders. Designers who believe they should be able to be affordable for most all fans are few, but Palermo certainly falls into that list, giving us an opening price of just $68.

We have no idea if there will be future collaborations with Nordstrom as well, but the American socialite and reality show cast member from The City sure knows where she is heading. She might be 29 years old and newly married around two years back, but she is a lady with her life ahead of her and it appears she will definitely be making the best of it. We very much look forward to her collaborations with some even bigger designers and retailers, and perhaps a few other celebrities as well?

Kristen Stewart Is the New Face of Chanel Makeup

Kristen Stewart Is the Face of Chanel Makeup

She rocked the Twilight films, making for a rather interesting and unexpected heroine. She is not the actress we would have chosen ourselves, but she got into her role really well and at the end of the day, she and her former beau (both real and on-set) Robert Pattinson created a masterpiece out of a masterpiece, literary brought to film. Kristen Stewart is a beauty, without a doubt. She could certainly smile more on set, but who needs that in the modelling industry? Chanel has had its eye on her for a while now, so it also came as no shock to see Kristen Stewart named as the face of Chanel Makeup. Kristen is expected to appear in a campaign called Collection Eyes 2016, which suits her really well for her eyes are lovely to behold. The photography will be by Mario Testino and the collection campaign will be revealed during the month of March.

Kristen Stewart Is the Face of Chanel Makeup

The portraits themselves are meant to show off the different facets of being a woman, the contemporary female having many layers to unfold. We are multi-dimensional, interesting, unique and quite powerful, both in mind and emotion, if not physically as well. Chanel wants to channel that and show it off through a series of portraits, which define that modern woman.

Stewart has worked with the house before, fronting the advertising for the Metiers d’Art Paris-Dallas collection in 2013, starring in the “Once and Forever’ film by the House, lensed by Karl Lagerfeld for the Rome edition of the Metier d’Artfashion show in December of 2015, and other small gigs. She is an actress who has been doing a pretty awesome job in the industry, but who has also enjoyed dipping her toes into the Balenciaga fragrance campaign as well.

Lagerfeld seems to be absolutely in love with her sultry, perfect with smoky shadows eyes as well, which means that we should look forward to seeing her on many a Chanel campaign in the coming years. She is only 25 years old at this point, so her modelling career has quite a bit of time to rightfully develop.

While Stewart had been in the acting business since 1999, it was not until 2008 and the Twilight trilogy that her career gained speed. Now, while 3-4 years back she was just a girl sitting in the front row of a renowned Chanel Fashion Week runway show, today she is a favorite for Lagerfeld, who allowed the actress to be cast as Coco Chanel in the 11 minute short film made in honor of the founder of the great house, her vision and mission, and everything she represented for the world of fashion. We expect to see much more of Stewart and rather look forward to it.

Lili Sumner Featured in Chiara Ferragni’s Spring 2016 Campaign

Lili Sumner in Chiara Ferragni Shoes Spring 2016 Campaign

Remember when Chiara Ferragni just started with her fashion blogging? The Blonde Salad has really climbed up the fashion ladder and made a huge name for herself in the industry, however lucrative it may appear. We can easily say that The Blonde Salad has been a rather big deal for a few years now, so her having her own collection is no big deal. Having someone else as the face of that campaign…. It certainly is huge to us! Blonde and beautiful Lili Sumner is featured in the Chiara Ferragni shoes spring 2016 campaign and we know she is a good fit.

Lili Sumner in Chiara Ferragni Shoes Spring 2016 Campaign

The Italian blogger and fashion designer has been having a rather great time of it all, with a huge following on her social media, particularly her blog and Instagram account. She has been employed by Guess as a model and spokesperson, while also coming out with her first published book. At 28 years old and standing rather tall at 177 cm, the law student has been fully integrated into the world of all things beautiful and there seems to be no end to her creativity or excitement.

She has certainly been enjoying the limelight since she started her fashion blog in October of 2009 and within 2 years was named Blogger of the moment by Teen Vogue and introduced as one of the biggest street style stars of New York through different media. She was still a law student at the time her blog had over a million unique visitors a month. She modelled for Guess in 2013, collaborated with Steve Madden for a 9-piece shoe collection for the spring season of 2014, and has worked on joint projects with Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Max Mara, Chanel, Tommy Hilfiger, J Brand, and Seven for All Mankind.

Standing at 175 cm tall with dress size of 2, Lili Sumner is a bit too thin for our tastes but somehow matches Ferragni’s style. The Chiara Ferragni collection has generally been about shoes because that is Chiara’s forte, but there is more to it as well. The blogger and designer feels that by allowing another to take her place as the model for the products, there can be bigger and better collaborations and a fresh look on the pieces presented, with new inspirations popping up as you take a step back and check out the whole picture.

The campaign features Sumner in fishnet tights and ’90s clothing, brightly colored backgrounds and an ode to the Superwoman theme. There are slip on sneakers and block heel ankle boots, glitter lace-up flats with Pop Art slogans, there are stars and fun appliques on the straps and heels. It is a lovely line-up and we are enjoying the teasers. We look forward to seeing the campaign in full soon!

& Other Stories Announces Collaboration With Faux/Real

FAUXReal x & Other Stories Spring 2016 Jewelry

Whenever something is up with & Other Stories, we instantly know that will be nothing but good news. The Swedish retailer began the fall 2015 season teaming up with Rodarte, and to further spice up this winter, it has just announced a new, thrilling upcoming collaboration with Faux/Real on a limited-edition jewelry collection!

FAUXReal x & Other Stories Spring 2016 Jewelry

Raw and minimalistic in nature, behind Faux/Real there’s an eclectic New Yorker duo, whose creative minds couldn’t be more contrasting. Louis DeCicco and Mari Ouchi have been working together on this unique label since 2009, never stopping creating wearable yet always conceptual pieces of art that combine refined artisan techniques with the same amount of refined and raw materials such as gold and silver. It’s a hybrid jewelry line at heart, which aims at celebrating both beauty at its purest and humankind’s hidden yin and yang nature. The duo often explores such a contrasting philosophy waving from uber-feminine aesthetics to almost architectural lines.

The high-street Swedish retailer couldn’t of course miss the opportunity to tell DeCicco and Ouchi’s story as well, and chose to do it in one of the most touching ways ever. The Faux/Real x & Other Stories collaboration brings forth a one-of-a-kind 14-piece jewelry collection, which includes everything from rings to necklaces to bracelets and earrings, focusing on the New Yorker duo’s signature looks, namely geometrical cuts, natural materials and man-made textures. The collection, which will be available in stores and online starting with this month, is pretty affordable with its prices ranging from $25 to $85. Modern and ultra-chic, the pieces combine silver, gold, stone and pearls, at times also exploring abstract lines and graphic statements. And that’s not even the best part of it!

The Faux/Real x & Other Stories jewelry collection comes just in time for Valentine’s Day, giving us not only the opportunity to celebrate our beloved ones with a refined piece of jewelry, but also the chance to remind us that love is love, no matter what your gender is.

Along with the collection, & Other Stories has released a touching campaign, where a same sex couple is the protagonist along with other couples, kissing and cuddling in front of the camera while showing off some of the lineup’s must-haves. Behind the tender kiss are models Svea Berlie and Jenny Ray, who did something we really wish could be more frequent among the many labels that each year release romantic advertisement campaigns exclusively for Valentine’s Day.

“Both of the brands tell stories through collections. The stories we are telling are not fantasies or fairy tales, they are deeply connected with our reality, everyday life, but with a little twist,” said Ouchi regarding the collaboration. Then, to warm up our wintery hearts, she concluded: “Faux/Real tries to show the world of ‘questionable reality’ which is a familiar everyday topic with an unexpected element to make people think, while & Other Stories’ themes focus on strong, independent sophisticated individuals who know who they are, what they want.”

What a lovely way to celebrate love and equality!

Jessica Alba Enters Fashion World with Jeans

Jessica Alba Enters Fashion World with DL1961 Jeans

We all love a good celebrity story. Especially when actors and actresses suddenly tread on the fashion designer line and we wonder whether they will trip or successfully make it over in one piece. Of course, we also get really frustrated, for we much prefer those in the world of fashion to have always worked as such. It just makes more sense in our minds to see everyone in their own space, without so many crossovers. In this day and age though, that might be a little much to ask for. Models, singers, reality show stars, actresses and just about anyone that reaches certain fame at one point or another is turning to design and beauty as well, augmenting their status with a larger reach through the masses. Jessica Alba is no exception, who’s now collaborating with DL1961 to launch a denim line.

Jessica Alba Enters Fashion World with DL1961 Jeans

The gorgeous actress, Jessica Alba, has long been one of the most stylish ladies on the red carpet. She has also been a denim fanatic working with everything from stonewashed short shorts, Mariah Carey waistband cuts, classic Levi’s, gorgeous overall, colored jeans, boyfriends and skinnies, distressed and white-washed‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√묨‚àÇ you name it, she has it. Her own admission to this has left us with wide eyes; how on earth does one amass a collection that takes up two whole racks, each hanger double up?

As such, we are not surprised at all to see that her first foray into the world of fashion is through designing a line of denim that she will be wearing before anyone else. Forget the masses, the designer’s love for the style will mean we will be seeing live modelling of every single piece, enjoying Alba as our walking, talking promotional friend.

Jessica Alba’s DL1961 jeans collection is expected to be available for the fall season of 2016 and will feature eight to ten pieces, hitting retail stores in August. “I live in Southern California and people aren’t too fussy out here, so wearing jeans out to dinner or an event isn’t out of the question,’ she told Vogue. “You can throw on a great blazer, a blouse, and a pump and that’s just as acceptable as a cocktail dress.’ We don’t know about all that, since we rather love our feminine dresses that come in lace and chiffon and tulle, but nothing beats an awesome Canadian tuxedo!

With her own body used as a model to work off, it is meant to show off curves while celebrating the bodies we were born with. That means large booties will enjoy as good a fit as any. She’s working with DL1961 for the denim and enjoys how the ethics there match her own Honest Company’s, producing nontoxic, environmentally friendly products.

The technology used creates some awesome denim while also ensuring a nearly waste-free environment. The denim itself is of high quality, stretching over the figure but not getting baggier as the days wane. Her favorite piece is the high-waisted Farrow jean in black, though she is really looking forward to perfecting the denim jacket to wear over a gorgeous cocktail dress.

Gucci Spring 2016 Makeup Collection

Gucci Spring 2016 Makeup Collection

We all surely remember the Gucci spring 2016 RTW collection filled with flying colors, afterwards appearing at the heart of so many laudations and admirations. Alessandro Michele gave birth to a new nerdy girl style with oversized round eyeglasses and thoughtful visages making a pretty effective contrast with the hilarious colors and botanical motifs. And now when spring 2016 makeup collections have been brought to frantic competition, the brand is launching the Gucci Beauty spring 2016 makeup collection, all inspired by tender flower petals, fresh leaves, pretty ladybugs, colorful parrots and so on and so forth.

Gucci Spring 2016 Makeup Collection

The collection, not so bounteous with makeup products, includes both new and already existing numbers all impregnated with tender pink shades with elegant beige in between and all making perfect beauty looks with any Gucci piece available in the spring 2016 collection. The assortment will come to market this month already at Gucci.com and other online retailers. The collection includes:

Gucci Magnetic Color Shadow Duo ($49.00)

The light brown and plum shades included make an ideal balance to be used alone or in combination or when mixed and matched with other shades to your liking. The highly pigmented formula of the duo is the best warrant to bring your eyes to the general attention, while the two brushes attached to them are for extremely precise application.

• #025 Primorse ” light brown / plum

Gucci Luxurious Moisture Rich Lipstick ($39.00)

The bright fuchsia shade of this line is well known among the most zealous Gucci devotees among us, but now it is being accompanied by two other pink beige and purple shades to come out as the best trio bounty to your lips. The highly-pigmented lipsticks provide full coverage color payoff even at the first swipe and if you dare to go for the second one that would really make a new beauty start in your life, for sure. The oils included in the lipstick formula are for moisturizing and hydrating the most sensitive part of your face. Check the shades below and pay homage to your lips:

Cindy Crawford To Retire from Modelling at 50

Cindy Crawford to Retire at 50

American model Cindy Crawford is one of the most iconic personalities in the fashion industry, as she has been posing in front of the cameras for more than 34 astonishing years now. Unfortunately (for us), the leggy model has just announced one of the saddest decisions of all time, which is going to be effective starting from February 20, 2016 on Crawford’s 50th birthday: Cindy Crawford is going to retire from modelling, and will no longer be walking the ramp.

Cindy Crawford to Retire at 50

She left the official announcement up to the United Airlines Rhapsody magazine, turning a few hours later to her Instagram account, where she often posts pictures of her daily life and career, to further clarify her position, which might be actually not as radical as we all thought at first: “Every year, I tell my kids I’m retiring. It’s a running joke in our family. And yet every year, opportunities pop up that really excite me. While it’s true that I’m eager to shift my focus a bit to concentrate on my businesses, friends and family ” I’m not making any final statements (not all headlines tell the whole story!). I have loved being part of the fashion industry for the past 30 years ” and if that time has taught me anything, it’s this: never say never. Thanks for all the support, I’m so excited for what 2016 holds!”

Crawford, who actually quit full-time modelling 16 years ago, decided to sew up her legendary career with two last stunning photoshoots, respectively for the aforementioned Rapsody Magazine and for the Balmain SS 2016 campaign, for which she joined forces with fellow Nineties colleagues Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer. On both sets she looked nothing but jaw-dropping, sporting one toned physique and an almost ageless face that make us wonder whether she is actually going to turn 50 or 30.

The announcement, as said, does not however mean the legendary model is going to totally shut down all the possibilities that will open up to her in the future, and her decision has nothing to do with the entertainment industry itself: “I’m sure I’ll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore. And that’s OK. I’ve done it. I’ve worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do? I can’t keep reinventing myself. I shouldn’t have to keep proving myself. I don’t want to,” Crawford explained, making us question whether she already has something in mind or not (we obviously hope so).

It appears clear that Crawford may be highly interested in venturing outside the golden realm of modelling, and basically anything could happen at this point. Is she going to focus on an acting career? Or will she just work in the fashion industry but behind the scenes, as a stylist or even fashion designer? Such decisions won’t be surprising at all, as many other Eighties/Nineties top-list models followed similar paths too, and are now often teaming up with fast-fashion retailers to design fancy capsule collections.

Anyhow, for those who already feel the blues and can’t wait to celebrate Cindy Crawford’s incomparable career, we suggest taking a look at her brand new autobiographical book, entitled Becoming, for which she chronicled both her life and career, sharing all the good and bad lessons she learned while walking on and outside the catwalk, as well as the most astounding pictures renowned photographers took for her during the long and revolutionary 34 years.

Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Spring 2016 Collection

Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Spring 2016 Collection

Every time Paris Haute Couture Week draws to a close, it so happens that the foretaste of high fashion glorification of ours does not come to a standstill in any way. And that means, really as we know it for sure, that a Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda show is yet to come and jeopardize our perception of reality to disappear without any trace. The Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda spring 2016 collection brought to light at La Scala opera house, Milan this year as well through as-always dizzy and well-heeled show, reached its completion on January 31, Sunday. And we are already catching the glimpse of that opulence, experiencing unknown delights and getting high over it. Yes, we are yet again spellbound and it is fait accompli.

Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Spring 2016 Collection

The grandiose interior of La Scala opera house with its exuberant red velvet combined with golden ornaments all arousing deep reverence within us could not but inspire the high fashion connoisseurs Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana to make reference to those great Puccini operas like Tosca, Turandot, and Madame Butterfly held at La Scala in the early 20th century. And they were also so very much inspired by a figure so closely linked with opera-goers’ fashion ” the Milanese dressmaker Biki, who had a great affection for big hats and who was in honorable charge to dress the stunning women at opera, but also known as the granddaughter of Puccini. “So you’ll see both the singers and the audience in the collection,’ Dolce announced in a preview at the atelier.

No sooner said than done! The most exquisite and luxurious materials and details ever garnered in one place add up to Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda ” a great deal of black, red and even deep green velvet just in keeping with the opera house’s interior, intricate ornaments reaching their apogee via Baroque golden threads, a great deal of sumptuous fur and quasi impalpable tulle and lace, grandiose crinolines as numero uno Alta Moda barometers, palatial square shoulders and A-line silhouettes, botanical motifs scintillating through sequins and paisleys, emerald and ruby gemstones, chandelier-style golden earrings and so-typical-of-Dolce & Gabbana high-falutin’ headgear and also those so-mannish pantsuits but more on that later.

The Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda show is definitely one of the most paramount and exclusive events occurring twice a year having kick-started in 2012 and staying so staunch to its private viewing doctrine to open its doors to only 1% of the 1% – the most well-to-do and silk-stocking figures among them being the brand’s most devoted clientele since the year dot, both heirs and heiresses, highballers, bankrollers or else those who have just shaken the pagoda-tree. No less impressive were the floor-scraping gowns and lavish garniture paraded out by those feminine figures, whose identities are off and on kept behind closed doors, who could even make the continuation of that 88-piece collection expanding it to 90, 95 or 100, who knows?

The show got the ball rolling with high drama rendering elegant pieces all enfolded with mourning black ” a monumental A-line furry coat with realistic powdery pink flowers on it or a midi body-con dress with a mysterious hood, which was really an icing on the cake. A black midi dress, sleeves and bib edgings trimmed with golden buttons were making a perfect sacramental scene with a large golden catholic cross pendant; a one-shoulder black number was paired with ornamented opera gloves, while a velvet stunner with golden ornamented decorations on the shoulders and belly were to carry us back to antique times, a technique used throughout the whole collection.

Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Spring 2016 Collection

We see velvet+golden ornament combo on a deep red gown as well but coming to its head with labyrinthine adornments. The all deep green velvet dress with super restraint design could have considered to be one of the simplest numbers, but not with the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda spring/summer 2016 show, where massive earrings were to amalgamate with equally massive headgear.

The day before the show, as per tradition, was the day for Alta Sartoria collection, all including made-to-measure pieces for men, the traces of which made their way through feminine pieces as well under the guise of a series of masculine three-piece suits with bow-ties on the collars and opera coats thrown over the shoulders.

We see the designers’ great amore for flowers on a handful of gowns and midi dresses that were shining with all their glory through paisleys twinkling high and low, right and left, as well as on a smattering of spring-emanating accessories.

Yes, Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda carries on with its exclusive status, making us get a big wallop out it from season to season. And if a glance at these masterpieces makes our heads spin, what was going on with the psicologia of those sitting right there at La Scala, not to speak about feeling the touch of those delicate fabrics on their own bodies?

Reformation’s Vintage Dresses for Spring 2016: That Feeling Lookbook

Reformation's Vintage Dresses for Spring 2016

Every woman deserves the perfect dress for those warm spring days, regardless of what her own personal style is. The Reformation offers a wide variety of clothing for the woman who likes to be fun, flirty, and maybe a little bit edgy, all while staying eco-friendly. And for the 2016 spring season, we were given beautifully simple vintage dresses that aspire to give us what the brand calls “that feeling when you find the perfect vintage dress that actually fits.”

Reformation's Vintage Dresses for Spring 2016

“We make killer clothes that don’t kill the environment,” the label’s website boldly states. And it is on this site that you can browse through thoughtful designs that pull together all the best aspects from the ghosts of fashion eras past ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö√Ü all while keeping things modern and chic. “Reformation began as a small shop that reconstructed one of a kind vintage pieces ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö√Ü mostly dresses,” the site’s spring dress portal continues. “Because we’re sentimental af sometimes, we created a new collection of dresses inspired by the early days.”

With Reformation, you always have an idea of what to expect. Their clothes reflect the way they speak — a little edgy and revved up, but always composed. And the Reformation vintage dresses for spring 2016 are no exception, as they give a beautiful range for all types of fashion preferences, and of course the throwback designs from our favorite fashion trends from past decades will always be able to make us smile. Many of the dresses in this collection are short, to say the least, and there is also a lot of sheerness and frills. But on the other side of the spectrum, they give us fun shirtdresses and tanks, alongside a few tea length options and classic prints.

The visual for the classic spring dress always seems to fall back to a floral, sheer or otherwise floating dress, and the Reformation spring 2016 collection uses that concept to tie together classic vintage and modern tendencies. The Peachtree and Corey dresses are the most notable for this specific idea. But then you also have dresses like the Liam dress, which is totally youthful and fun, with its button-down style and cute heart pattern ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö√Ü not to mention the pockets! This is easily one of the most versatile dresses in the collection as well, because with the addition of some leggings and boots, this dress doesn’t necessarily need to be worn when it’s hot outside.

Reformation's Vintage Dresses for Spring 2016

The Gene, Kyle, and Mortar dresses, on the other hand, are versatile in their own ways. It would be easy to change up the styling and make these dresses perfect for personal styles of different women. Their streamlined, easygoing appearance makes them the ideal dress for many different shoppers, especially since they’re also so easy to wear. So it can be easy to play around and find the perfect styling for you.

But it’s the Eleanor dress that is in a category of its own. A new vintage trend that has made its way back into favor in recent seasons is lace giving the illusion of lingerie, so naturally there should have been a nod to the revival in a vintage clothing collection. This dress manages to fit easily and maintain a level of elegance that this line would have otherwise been lacking.

With that, everything works together to create an all-encompassing collection that doesn’t leave much room for want. The Reformation vintage dresses are available for spring on Reformation’s website, for between $138 and $148. But for some of the more popular looks, you might find yourself on the waitlist.

Stella McCartney Releases Spring 2016 Campaign

Stella McCartney Spring 2016 Campaign

Designer Stella McCartney decided to take command of her ads for the spring/summer 2016 season. She styled the campaign, and she decided to cast models Mariacarla Boscono and Natalia Vodianova, who have been favorites of the designer for quite some time. The fabulous Stella McCartney spring 2016 ad campaign was photographed by Harley Weir, marking his third collaboration with McCartney.

Stella McCartney Spring 2016 Campaign

The photos were taken right outside Paris, although the setting wasn’t really relevant to the outcome of the campaign. The shots were taken from above, as the models were sprawled on deep green grass, and some with the designer’s name on a white banner taking up the center of each shot. This made everything seem simple, natural, and also highlighted the clothes while keeping everything chic and editorial.

“I wanted to evoke the laid back feeling of summer; a celebration of love and friendship,” said McCartney, on her website. “The images have a sense of lightness, an open heart with an edge to it.”
The way the models lay next to each other on the open ground is almost a sensual display, where it is now easy to see McCartney’s vision of an open heart. The campaign’s page on her website continued on to talk about what exactly the campaign means, and more on the details of the photoshoot.

“The new campaign is inspired by women and the individuality of women‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√묨‚àÇ the effortless and fresh images portray a celebration of summer. Natalia Vodianova and Mariacarla Boscono showcase this season’s looks featuring an explosion of color, energy, and movement…”

The looks featured in the campaign were shown off in all the right ways, with the pristinely pleated dresses playing nicely beside the more body-hugging knit fabrics. The patterned pieces were standouts of their own kind, and didn’t have to worry about fighting any over-the-top setting or other style elements. Everything definitely had its place in these shots, which made the accessories stand out beautifully. The Becks bag is the new addition to the McCartney line, with its hand-woven brass chain.

According to WWD, there was to be a complementary mood film revealed on Jan. 29, although there has been no wind of such a video on McCartney’s website or her social media platforms. This would likely make for a lovely addition to the photos, but unfortunately it’s not seeming like a sure thing. That being said, there have been a couple of fun videos that link to the clothes in the spring collection earlier in January, so there is a video element at play here, just maybe not what some were expecting.

Stella McCartney Spring 2016 Campaign

Going back to the overall visual photoshoot before us, it’s easy to see its beauty. But there is something so much more exciting about when an ad campaign is in print, rather than in only digital form. This is one campaign that will look stunning on the glossy pages of the magazines, which will be carrying it. It will be running in the March issues of magazines like Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Interview, V, Vogue, and W, and will also be found on other international titles as well. With its simple elegance and highly editorial nature, this is one campaign you’ll want to be keeping your eyes peeled for come March.
