Fendi Pre-Fall 2016 Collection
Have you have wondered what retro-futurism would look like when combined with sleepwear and a touch of opulence? If your answer is ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§something awesome’ and you were actually just waiting for the right designer to finally create retro-futuristic sleepwear pieces that you could wear to the street, rejoice! The newly unveiled Fendi pre-fall 2016 collection can be rightly considered as the perfect haute sleepwear line out there!
Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi have just presented one of the most interesting line-ups of all time, as always showing a genius craftsmanship of fur and leather. The collection is rife with color-blocking techniques and oversized silhouettes, but also absolutely insane footwear and covetable spacious bags that will instantly take your personal style to a whole new level.
The Fendi pre-fall 2016 collection features both feminine designs and perfectly tailored masculine pieces, which all together unite their forces to create one of Fendi’s quirkiest line-ups. Moreover, in order to keep on nurturing our sweetest dreams, the collection also has room for some romanticism, which becomes more and more evident as soon as we discover the burgundy flared capes and red bell-sleeved A-line dresses (this makes us wonder whether Little Red Riding Hood had something to do with the collection’s influences or not).
The art of layering is the next interesting technique we see quite often throughout the collection, but also the interesting fur collars and belts, as well as various leather embellishments that give more opulence to the designs. The fur belts tied around the waist also give the distinctive nightgown and bathrobe feel to the oversized coats, blazers and kimono jackets, which somehow manage to look even more feminine than the more conventional pieces included in the collection.
Tuxedo suits take great advantage of the collection’s pajama-extravaganza too, pairing their almost psychedelic graphic touches with extra large chunky slippers in sheepskin and fur. Slouchy socks help such outfits get their unique boudoir attitude, and look just so warm they’ll make your heart melt.
As for the evening dresses available in the collection, although coming adorned with pearl embellishments, lace embroideries and lavish fur scarves and appliqués, the designs stick to the main theme of the collection resembling luxurious bedroom nightdresses, which also definitely declare the normcore trend dead.
Some overly large fur coats at times interrupt the double-breast coat line with their oversized floral embellishments, while mini trumpet skirts and mid-calf pleated skirts momentarily follow the collection’s omnipresent flannel fabric theme. Boot-cut pants, flared mini dresses and slim-fit long-sleeved turtlenecks somehow manage to inject their ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§basic’ attitude into the collection, being the most unconventional haute couture pieces of the pre-fall season.
Of course, the Fendi pre-fall 2016 collection features some awe-inspiring accessories as well, which keep on following the bedroom-inspired theme, putting more emphasis on their materials rather than on the structures. That’s the reason why the collection features a myriad of exotic skins like python and lizard, and doesn’t seem to be afraid of adding interchangeable straps in leather, fur and floral embellishments, as well as metallic adornments to those covetable bag designs.
