Versus Versace Fall 2015 Collection
The Versus branch of the Versace brand has officially released its fall 2015 collection and we are very happy with the results. There is something about Versace that has always appealed to us and the Versus Versace doubly so. Founded as a diffusion line of the noted Versace fashion house in 1989, Milan was certainly given much good through its collections, originally a gift from Gianni Versace to his sister Donatella. The female counterpart resurrected the label in 2009 with a capsule collection designed by the newly emerging Christopher Kane, who has since been replaced by J.W. Anderson, the Scottish giving his position to the Irish in an Italian company. There is something rather amusing about that fact. Jonathan’s work has impressed Donatella to no end and she has never failed to make mention of her pride for the young talents she has accrued over the years.
The Versus brand is about keeping it fun, constantly changing with the times and in line with the digital advancements in the world. Men’s and women’s clothing lines appear within the label’s collections, along with accessories, watches and even a few fragrances. The latter is for the woman who is romantic yet tough in her femininity, a woman who loves to dare. No matter how the line came about, we are very happy it exists, particularly since it allows Donatella to deviate from her typical Versace designs.
Versus 2.0 is in full release at this point, thanks to Christopher Kane and Jonathan W. Anderson. Anthony Vaccarello is creative director at the moment and has released a rather incredible collection for the fall of 2015. Diffusion lines usually mean a whole lot more selection in the types of garments available, which certainly appears here though some funky hoodie mini dresses, as well as loosening of price points to appeal to a wider demographic, something that has not really taken place so that the Versace feel of it won’t be tarnished.
What is included in the Versus Versace fall 2015 collection though? Black is certainly a color of choice, with silver making great contrasts against the garments. We see blazers and trousers, black shirts galore, and lovely pumps that are simply perfect for the working professional. Studded strapless mini dresses with matching knee high boots appear on the market, slightly confusing the senses. High neck sleeveless coatdresses with studded belts and matching boots also make an appearance, looking positively spectacular, except for the fact that the necks are thoroughly engulfed, leather miniskirts and bomber jacket sets that match perfect with the handbag as well, while black socks are thrown in with ankle booties.
We also see some more daring escapades, wherein plunging necklines separate two different dress concepts on a single garment, one side with a longer hem and long sleeves, versus the micro hem and sleeveless look on the right side of the body. We have to say though, that hoodie mini dress is so very attractive at this moment, looking positively comfortable and perfect for the girl who goes to college and wants to throw something simple over tights or bare legs, depending on the weather out there. There is some blue that also makes an appearance, but just barely before being engulfed by the black fabrics once again. Some tartan reds also come into play, worked in with zip up asymmetrical hemmed leather skirts, while full out kilts peek through as well. Browns, olive, purples, pinks all poke through the black clouds at some point, the minis replaced with floor length skirts with high slits along the sides or more of the half and half dress designs. There are 14 female looks in the Versus Versace fall 2015 collection and we can certainly say our mind is blown with the sheer loveliness of the designs.
