Anna Ewers for Mango Spring 2015 Campaign
Spanish clothing design and manufacturing company, Mango, has finally released its spring 2015 campaign with Anna Ewers, the 21-year-old German model also featured on the Pirelli Calendar, chosen as the face of the season’s looks. Ewers was discovered by Alexander Wang through her photograph on a blog and catapulted her career to include walking the runway for Celine, Balenciaga, Prada and Dolce & Gabbana. In the Mango spring 2015 campaign, there is a major focus on the ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§70s fashions, as is the latest trend on the runway, with garments ranging from denims to sweatshirts, flared pants and suede coats. We have leather and paisley, stripes and button-sown skirts. All in all, we have some of the loveliest pieces to transfer from 4 decades before into modern fashion designs. Furthermore, the hair is worn at a medium length, left to find its path with its slight boho waves, and the makeup is kept minimal, with a slight focus on the eyes and keeping to nude or light pink lips.
Mango was founded back in 1984 in the Catalonia province of Spain and has its headquarters in Palau-solita I Plegamans to this date. Brothers Isak and Nahman Andic brought this now world-renowned brand to light. Since 2011, Kate Moss has been the company’s greatest muse, only lately to be replaced with Miranda Kerr, while even Princess Letizia of Asturias has made her way to headquarters having donned a Mango outfit. To date, Mango has stores in about 110 countries around the world, including 244 in Spain.
The white on white look is very much in style, with even the haute couture fashion shows emphasizing that common trend during the past Paris Couture Fashion Week. With the Mango spring 2015 collection, we are treated to quite a few looks that feature this combination, often also adding a suede light brown jacket and suede fringed purse to the mix. We love the high waist to the pants and the wider leg look, ensuring that imperfections are easily handled and the legs look long and well proportioned. We also have mesh tops appearing in the series, pulled over white tank tops, which definitely show off a fun and airy atmosphere to the otherwise chic looks. Add brown suede boots and the contrasts are complete.
Suede pieces are a common theme within this spring and summer collection and black suede button down midi hemmed skirts with a high waist and a gorgeous airy sweater on top certainly take the cake. The drawstrings at the chest or elsewhere on the garments are also a trend that has been extensively utilized by affordable ready-to-wear fashion retailers, while the balance of tight versus loose clothing has been found easily enough. The whole Mango spring 2015 collection screams of comfort in style.
Denim on denim was big in 2014 and has continued on into 2015, taking up the shelf space rather extensively. The proper way to wear denim on denim is to have two different shades to it, probably with a darker color to the jean pants, which of course are no longer a cigarette coupe but a longer slightly flared hemmed look, and a lighter color to the button down denim shorts, complete with brass buttons and double breasted pockets. It’s a good look and the addition of long chained pendants certainly adds to the appeal of the ensemble, especially when you pair it with brown suede boots.
