Monique Lhuillier Spring/Summer 2015 Collection ” New York Fashion Week
We can always rely on Monique Lhuillier, when it comes to astounding, breathtaking and just mind-blowing evening gowns, perfect for dazzling everyone around on any red carpet event. The Monique Lhuillier spring/summer 2015 collection didn’t disappoint us to this end, however, it also brought a touch of freshness with it, explained by the fact that the designer put her focus on daywear options this year. Her aim to bring something beautiful for daywear was definitely fulfilled, but even here we could see the same elegance and femininity any of her evening dresses always comes embedded with. To some extent, we can even state that Monique Lhuillier’s daywear designs are equally special occasion worthy and dramatic as those fab gowns. Using her recent trip to Harbour Island in the Bahamas as inspiration, she managed to give birth to a line full of emotions, sensuality and sophistication. “When the sun rose over the ocean, the sky turned beautiful shades of blush and lavender, and there was this reflective quality to the water. I wanted to instill that sparkle in every piece,” Monique described her idea behind these gorgeous designs, and well, yes, she did manage to transfer all this romantic mood to us too!
The Monique Lhuillier spring/summer 2015 collection arrived in New York as a romantic pastel breeze encompassing all the soft and feminine hues one needs to highlight her fragile nature. There you’ll fall in love with those delicate peach, lilac, pastel pink and yellow tones, accompanied with baby blues, mint greens, aquamarine, coral and ivory hues, all reflecting the beautiful sunrise moments she lived in Harbour Island. Delicate beading, lots of shimmer, sophisticated transparency, organza and chiffon details came in line with full puffy skirting and sleeveless designs gently emphasizing the décolleté of the models. Generally, the models at the Monique Lhuillier spring/summer 2015 collection show were like beautiful Cinderellas, looking for their shoes after a magical ball spent with their princes.
The show started in an unusual manner, bringing an array of “relaxed’ separates and daytime dresses, including those memorable roomy tailored shorts and classic culottes, uber-feminine dresses, short coats and trench ones, see-through blouses and body-embracing sleeveless options. Wholly, sleeveless silhouettes were the focus of the entire collection, as this was the technique used for designing not only the princess gowns, but also the day dresses and chic blouses.
Next, we also saw a shimmery fantasy brought to life thanks to special metallic fabrics uses for creating bolder and more attention-grabbing looks. Boxy silhouettes enhanced with quilting, luminous threads, tulle layers, intricate beading and lace appliqués are other details used to give a big dose of daintiness to these designs.
The Monique Lhuillier spring/summer 2015 collection show was, of course, closed with her dramatic so-Monique gowns, each of which conveyed a bit of her story of sunrise. We can rightly say that this was one of the most beautiful and memorable sunrises we have ever seen so far!
